Since I still have my '98 apart I'll pick up a booster today or tomorrow for comparison. I should know soon enough.Any idea if this adapter will also work on the 91-96 dodge Dakota trucks?
The '95 bolt pattern is the same as the '97-98 pattern, although the '97-98 uses a thicker stud M10x1.5 and the '95 uses a smaller, probably 8mm stud. If the holes aren't large enough in the ’95 fire wall for the thicker stud, a 7/16 drill or a rat-tail file would be enough to open them up. The ’95 pushrod is shorter and would require a longer adapter/spacer but the geometry to the brake pedal seems different and I’d have to give it a little more thought and draw a scaled print to analyze the proper shape of the adapter to make it work. I’ll try to do this in the next week before I return the power brake booster I bought to get dimensions. I'm not sure there would be enough sales to make it worth it but I’ll put a little more time into it to make that determination.
I’m in the process of orienting the boosters so I can see where the differences may be with the ’95 booster compared to the ’97-98 adapter and it appears that the pushrod may be short by some amount, maybe 1/4” +/-. What I need to do now is get the ’95 booster on the same plane as the other two and see where the pushrod times out along with the distance it is short. If it does work, the adapter will need to be wider by the difference of the pushrod lengths.
One thing I just noticed about the remanufactured ’95 booster is that the reason the mounting studs are 8mm and not 10mm is because the original studs were cut off and holes for smaller studs were drilled and tapped off center. It’s kind of buggered-up in my opinion so I’ll have to take that into account too. (Kind of makes me wonder how well the booster was rebuilt. lol)
Initially I was just trying to eyeball things to get an idea but that can be deceiving so I did a little better mock-up comparison on the floor. Now that it looks like it will work, I will transfer that to a flat steel table to be absolutely sure. It looks like by widening the HiPoTek adapter for the ’97-98 Dakota by 1/2”, that it will time-out correctly for the ’87-96 Dakota using the '99-03 Dakota booster.

Goodmorning Richard. Great work! Got my stuff ok. Thanks
If you haven't lived for something, you'll die for nothing.
Cool so all I would need to do is make a 1/2" thick spacer to add to the adapter and it will work on the 94-95 Dakota?

Yes. But I make some of this stuff to order because sales are low and I can only afford to throw so much $ in so many directions. So if I am making one, I can make it the half inch longer to begin with. However, the center round section is rolled from flat stock with my ring rollers and I’m not sure if they can handle the extended width. I know DOM is available but it will be more expensive in a small quantity from my supplier without a special order of a 20-24’ length which I wouldn’t sell in a month of Sundays. If you are interested I can check with my steel supplier to see what is available and how much. Or, I may be able to make a box shape with a press brake that may also work. So to cut to the chase, I’m pretty sure I can make the size you need without you having to figure out a spacer. I will check into it and let you know.Cool so all I would need to do is make a 1/2" thick spacer to add to the adapter and it will work on the 94-95 Dakota?

98Dak408- how is that finger brake kit for the hf press been working for you? That is on my list of must haves once I get my drywall done in my garage.
I may have to hit you up for that brake booster adaptor as well when I re plumb all my brake lines on my 95 sport. You make a few goodies I want actually. Aside from swapping to the 5 lug rotors on a 95 are there any other brake upgrades available for a Gen 2? I didn't realize you had a 95 and based off all the things you make Have you experimented with anything on it?
