Default Megasquirt 3x or Megasquirt 3 pro parallel install

Plan on doing a parallel install, with a supercharger, and a reverse manual valvebody 46re. Am I better off going with ms3x or ms3pro?

I would go with pro but 3x will work fine too.

Is there still a patch harness available?

So currently my only option is to start cutting up the harness.

It's only the injector grounds and a few others. You could easily go back if needed.

So basically the MS3 pro is wired to all the sensors for making the engine run, IAT, IAC, TPS, MAP, CPS, and a couple leads from the harness are cut and run to the MS3 harness?

Pretty much. Also the cam sensor.

Edit: if I remember correctly, the injectors and IAC are the only wires that actually need to be cut. You can still let jtec control the iac but it's nice to take control of you run something a 4bbl tb that uses a gm sensor.

I dig my MS3PRO after I figured out the in's and out's of the wiring. Of course I went full stand alone, and it has a fuck ton of features you probably won't ever use.

Ill be going pro when the time comes. So many freaking features. It'll be nice to have if ever needed. Plus its water proof.

I am also considering the MS 3 Pro for my truck. I like to experiment with things and would no doubt drive a tuner nuts. I believe it also comes with some base tuning parameters which may help with a starting point for tuning.

It can generate its own tables as a starting point. I paid Ryan for an AFR table and a timing table. I then let tuner studio generate a base VE table. Drive it at let tuner studio tune the VE table.

The pro also has one of the better self learning assist features of any standalone if you choose to use that. I have read the better the tune the better it works but it can start to steer you in the right direction.

Does Pro use a different version of TunerStudio?

Is there a difference between 3X and pro?

Honestly I dont know - I was half kicking around ideas of buying a harness, depinning it and making a brand new harness that would be plug and play. So I was reading on the pro only as that is what I wanted. Now that I am offing this shit box my researched has end of lifed LOL.

Mopar Action has used this when they installed the Holly XFI on the bold beeper roadrunner project, also used coil -near-plug. Very neat setup.

That's what I want to do. Run wasted spark ign-4 on the Rt and ign-1 on the genII.

Does that adapt a jeep cam gear sensor to the block? If so I'd consider picking one up, and rolling with it.
