I’m working on a prototype deep sump pan using the stock pan as the core. What I like about the stock pan is that it utilizes the OEM dipstick tube. I’m currently running the Schumacher pan and I’m sick of burning my fingers trying to grab the dipstick from between the headers.
I feel you on burning your fingers with the Schumacher pan. Done it many times lol. I'm pretty sure the jm pan uses the stock dip tube

I’m going to mock up different sumps with cardboard but this is the simplest. Figured I’d use my old pan for R&D, trial-and-error. You can see the dipstick tube inside the pan. (You can also see that I'm probably not married with car parts all over the dining room table. lol)

Once I get this ironed out I'll probably use new cores for production. Sometimes cleaning up used pans is more trouble than it's worth.

Have you considered kicking the side out. If I remember correctly that alone picked up a few ponies with small blocks.

I stopped there on my way down to the ocean city Maryland car show a couple weekends ago. All the machine work is done, heads are done. Parts were all there. Just needed assembly and dyno.

I don't care to much about numbers
I want it dynoed so I know all is good before it goes into the truck.
Then the chassi dyno is for tuning.
    Time slips will follow.

But it will be nice to see the difference in numbers before and after drivetrain loss with the 4r70w

(Last motor had a problem with the oil pump and I had to pull the motor to repair the day I put it in)
