Upon reflection wasn't sure if this was regional or not, but it seems it is more than just local to here. (and it was a good joke, dammit! )

I think the heads and the intake will be the difference maker. Unless you do something wild it should not be a problem.

Was it really quicker? .06 on motor? And I hope it was quicker when it was built details like this. Not to mention the fabulous headers I didn't want him to build that ended up costing me out the ass. So I sure hope it was quicker.

W5 heads will hold you back some, I would find some 360-1 cnc 245 heads or w-8'/w-9's in my opinion.

    I agree 100%
W-5 will work just fine if pushing boost threw them. But n/a they won't flow as well as the heads you listed.
But will be way better then cast iron r/t's

Should have the motor back in about 45 days. Then it has to be completely rewired and exhaust redone. Will say June or July really.

What is actually being done to the engine? Just a open and refresh? I thought Dave built that thing to the gills to begin with.

    Yeah it's a JM pan...
Okay, that’s what I thought it might be. I’ve just never seen it from an end view. Not sure why he brought the sides of the sump up so high (toward the bolt flange) or why one side is higher than the other.

I’m working on a prototype deep sump pan using the stock pan as the core. What I like about the stock pan is that it utilizes the OEM dipstick tube. I’m currently running the Schumacher pan and I’m sick of burning my fingers trying to grab the dipstick from between the headers.
