Default National or regional meet ideas

As new rep for the division, in going tontry to breath some life into Div 5.

Looking for input and help with setting up a large meet in Div 5. Either as part of the DRTC national meet, or just something for the division. There is a local drag strip/road course close to me. Plenty of hotels, casinos, and other activities for everyone. I could start working on trying to plan something, but would like help with it. Or if anyone has any other locations they would like to try for let me know.

FYI right now some Div 2 members are looking at Memphis TN. If this turns into a national meet it might be good location for your region too since it is close to the Div 2/Div 5 boundary.

Do we want to try and piece together a Div. 5 meet since it looks like it's going to be the summer of multiple divisional meets?

I have a handful of ideas for it, and I figure it could revolve around Mopars in the Park in Farmington, MN, which is the first weekend in June. I RARELY see Dakota R/Ts there, in fact I think I saw none last year, so I thought it'd be cool to try and scrape together a handful for this year. Farmington isn't too terribly far from what I've heard is an awesome go-kart track, there are some gun ranges around the Twin Cities, plenty of awesome places to eat, and Mystic Lake Casino if people are into that. There are plenty of reasonably priced and decent hotels around the south side of the Twin Cities too.

Here are some links to stuff:

    http://www.mysticlake.com/

I'll be there one way or another with my R/T, would just be cool to try and draw in some more of you. If there was enough interest in this I can call around and get details on some of this stuff.

I was planning on putting something together for Omaha àrea. We have a 1/8 mile track that will give us our owñ bracket class for rscing. Go kart track if we want, a road course we could get out on. Big mopar only shiw in May with some of the best trophies you will see at a show. Or we could plan something around the annual Ice Cream Cruise which is a big weekend long event with no-prep drag racing on 1/8 mile track and roll racing on road course. Or we could just do ou4 own thing anytime during year. Don't really need a car show for a handful of trucks imo.

Is May too early for some to make it. The large Mopar show here in Omaha is May 13-14. I can start getting the hing set up if there will be enough to make it. Such as possibly discounted hotel rooms, a bracket race at drag strip, maybe see if we can get a group discount for show entry. He last one may be a stretch though.

Another option is Aug 6th & &th for the annual Ice Cream Cruise. It draws some of the fastest street racers from all over country. If you follow any youtube street racing videos, or 1320 Video, you will know some of these. LSX Willies is a normal attendee, Fr8train, Beater Bomb(local guy with LS swapped fox body). None of the TV Street Outlaws crap, thee are true street racers.
