I've been using cans of spray bomb then shooting real 2-part clear over that. Results have been pretty good, especially for something small like flares

My calipers are spray bomb color from auto zone, topped with 2-part clear

I actually thought about doing this but wasn't sure how it would turn out.

The duplicolor rattle cans are really good, just need the clear over top. Most don't use the clear coat so results don't look as good.

Don't use rattle can clear. It's better than no clear, but nowhere as good as 2-part. And a quart of 2 part clear with hardener is only about $50 and lasts a long time.

Heres a pic of my calipers after duplicolor rattle can color, vinyl decals, and then 2-part clear overtop of everything. You can see the original red in where the pads go.

I just bought a gallon for one of my trucks in ChromaPremier.. it was $650. Still need clear. Paint is getting ridiculous. I don't suggest using spray bombs with pearls and Metallics. It will always have "stripes" in it.

While most will agree with you,and what your saying. For smaller pieces like the flairs he’s looking to do,the tiger striping shouldn’t be an issue.

Yea. I'd never advocate using part store spray bomb color match paint to respray a body panel, but flares, trim, calipers, etc would be fine.

I use Nason base for some jobs at my shop. Nothing wrong with that.
