I would be a little cautious as why they wait 30 days to cut & buff, is it a reflection of the quality of the products used or to reduce the risk of burn through. The clear I use can be done in as little as a few hours, it is a lot more work for me if I waited 30 days.

    99dart,

They are going to do all the normal final wet sanding and buffing, but they only go to around 1000 grit. He said to wait a month and he would wet sand it down to 3000 grit. I don't know why he said to wait.

    DarkenedRT,

Let's see how this turns out. I have no problem giving you his info, if it does.

    Darkenedrt,

I finally picked the truck up yesterday and drove it straight to the trim shop for a leather interior. I didn't take any pictures but the paint shop did.

To see pictures, go to http://www.maaco-garland.com/ and click on "Our work". It's a rotation of pictures so you'll have to wait until the black and orange Dakota appears.

They did a great but not perfect job. The paint is great but there are minor, and I mean minor overspray issues. There is no over spray where you can see it from the outside but slight overspray when you open the doors. Overall, I am thrilled with the paint job. I got 6 or 7 quotes between $8,000 to $10,000 and this paint job cost me just under $4,000. A lot of the additional cost added to this was the removal of headlights/taillights, grill, front and rear fascia, body work and repair of a broken rear fascia etc.. The actual cost for just the paint job was around $1500 and it comes with a lifetime warrantee.

If you are still interested, I highly recommend them. Ask for Robert and tell him Jim with the Dakota sent you. Robert did everything he could to make me happy and he succeeded.

Awesome thanks! It'll be quite awhile before I'm at that point, but once I do, I'll give them a shout.
