Thread: Does anybody in Texas still have a heartbeat?

  1. #1

Default Does anybody in Texas still have a heartbeat?

I've been a member since December 2014 and I have yet to see any activity take place in the state. There was talk of a meet-up in Dallas in the Spring and then it rained everyday for 2 months. Murmurs about Houston and again nothing.

Does anybody have any interest or any plans for a get-together?

Looking ahead the Dallas MoPar Club is having their 31st annual show over Labor Day weekend. Any takers?

Hey Jim, I was going to get a post together about a mini meet in August or September in Dallas or Houston. Labor Day weekend might not be a bad call. If I've got everything together I'd make it.

I should be able to make a Dallas meet this year. Houston may be a possibility. Hopefully, the truck is reliable enough to drive down. If not, I'll be in the SRT4.

September was to be street car takeover in Houston. I could host. But it looks like that may have fallen through.

The Dallas MoPar Club is having it's monthly meeting tomorrow. It's at 2pm at the Spring Creek Barbeque on Preston Road in Dallas. It's just south of LBJ (635) on the west side. I'm going, was hoping somebody else could attend, too!

The Lone Star Round-Up is a great show. Live music, great cars, good food. No question there!

This is a horse of a different color. No music, great MoPars, over a 30 year tradition. Setting is a park where there is plenty of cover from the heat under massive trees or you can pitch a canopy. Lots of rare parts for sale. No shortage of MoPar nuts and/or MoPar experts! In the past I have seen many R/Ts in the show but, of course, you never know how many will be there. As with any car show, lots of nice cars in the parking lot, not entered in the show.

Agreed! With the exception of the mopar nationals in ohio the roundup is the best show I have ever been to.

    Any R/T's,

I didn't see you out there today but I saw 3 R/Ts in the show. 1 Intense blue from Mansfield, 1 Black and 1 highly altered Red. The red R/T said on the door "SC 6.7 R/T". I never found the owner of the red R/T but I spoke to the owners of the other two. 1 was a member (IB) and 1 (Black) never heard of this website; he does now. There were about 125 MoPars there (maybe more), including about 15 trucks.

I was there ... the red one was mine. Didn't spend a whole lot of time hanging around my truck, I was busy checking out all the fine hardware at the show. I was impressed with the vehicles that came over from Louisiana. They had some beauties. I also looked for your truck but apparently it wasn't in the show. All around a great day.

    Any R/T's,

You have a real beauty. I was impressed with your truck. My Dakota is in the middle of a rebuild so I didn't enter it. It was the orange and black Dakota in the main parking lot. Yes, there were plenty of incredible MoPars at the show.

Who painted your truck? I am looking for a painter right now.
