This is with Eddie heads for those that don't know Joe's combo....

99 DA RC To Be Discovered AKA Smokey
98 DA CC 11.59@118 AKA Barney

[Duner] : I was afraid I was going to go too fast and scare myself. Lucky for me - the DA rose up to save me.

[Kotta390] : Oh that's right! Well FML.....Looks like I am getting shafted because of my bore size

[BlakDak71] : I don't run oil, I run a special blend consisting of Hellman's mayo and the tears of a pregnant mermaid

[Kotta390] : My electric water pump puts out too much fuel at idle and is not a variable pump which makes it overheat in the summer at idle if I sit too long

[KotaRT] : Ed, you can have cake, as long as I get something in return

    Jomar doing this for free?

FYI, recheck your lash when you tighten the girdles down, maybe you know that, but I didn't.

Machine shop called today and said they were. It's not my fault so I would hope so.

And they checked out straight? Perhaps the drilled/tapped stud hole on the head was machined slightly crooked. A worn drill can "walk" creating a crooked hole. Reason why I say that is the machining process of the girdle is pretty straight forward. Chuck some aluminum bar stock in a vice and CNC machine away. Yes, I am a machinist by day and play a doctor on night time TV. Anyway, keep us posted.

Yes they were straight. I'll give the machine shop a call tomorrow. There were a lot of happy customers from this place on YB. I have a another set of eddies that I can give them so they can compare. Probably not a bad idea.

He believes the issue is with the girdles not the heads. I'm going to stop by today whith my ported set and he will compare.

Jomar called today. They are on top of making me a correct set. Dropped the other heads off but they may not get to them till next week.

Has anyone actually check their set or do you guys just slap them on?

Girdles fit my ported heads. Both sets of heads have the same part number. It's going to be a month till I get a correct set. I have 6 weeks left to work on this truck before I wont be able to touch it till winter. Fuck me.

Jomar called and their girdles fit the head they just got from Hughes. I got these heads along with pushrods and rockers for only $500. I think someone knew of the issue. I'm going to have the girdles modified to fit correctly.

So? Those Edelbrock heads have the studs drilled wrong? By .025" ?

Maybe they were a set that someone bought from Edelbrock "raw" and did all the work on and got the spacing wrong when they did the holes....

Knowing the history of the heads would help a lot with that determination....

    That's probably exactly what happened.

PO would be the only way I know. Was the PO a Dakota guy? If so maybe one of us knows the PO and where the work was done etc....
