Took it out for a cruise at about 10pm the other night. Stirring through the gears just fine when all of the sudden the shifter goes limp, just feels like it's completely disconnected from the transmission...

    ...Because it is:

Luckily for me, I have a friend whose family's shop rents Uhauls so he goes and grabs a dolly to drag my broke junk home for me at a moment's notice.

It had been welded before, and poorly. Had a coworker weld it back up for me; we'll see how it holds up. Ultimately, it should get replaced.

Lol, definitely not. I had an actual weldor here at work weld it up this time around. It looked like a kid did it last time (done before I owned it).

Wow, someone actually used "weldor" correct. Hardly ever see that

Haha yeah, seems like not a lot of people know (or care), but I prefer to make an obvious differentiation between man and machine by using the term "weldor".

Even Firefox is showing me a red line under weldor, telling me it's incorrect. Apparently it depends on what dictionary you're looking at.

Hope someone took the time to figure out the alloy to choose the right filler and process before blasting away at it. Those pieces are typically made out of hardened tool steel and welding on it can damage the micro-structure and be prone to cracking and breaking again.

Factory style front bumper painted and installed, roll pan painted and installed, front fender liners replaced. And yeah, I know, the front bumper already has some sag it needs adjusted out. Pic 1 is at Mopars in the Park in Farmington, MN from a few weeks ago, pic 2 is a little later that night.

Handles should all be paint matched a little later this summer, and I plan to either find a completely different set of wheels, or paint the ones on it factory argent silver again, because black sucks.

Took it to Powercruise this weekend for the first time since 2015. Track time reminds me how much of a necessity some sort of a brake upgrade is.

Pardon the potato picture quality. It was taken through the dirty windshield of a friend's Camaro.

That is a great picture, and worth getting in canvas.

Most R/T Owners drag their truck, but I grew up (and still am growing up) road racing, and am working towards a track day in the future. Rear frame brace also in the future.

I grew up watching my dad drag race from about the second I was born.

I think drag racing will always be number one for me, but man do I enjoy some corners from time to time, and the R/T is pretty decent with the Hotchkis in it.

Also, you might be onto something with your idea of having that pic put on canvas. I'll have to see what it'd end up looking like blown up a little bigger.

At least an 11" x 17" framed of this, and Walgreens allows you to do this online, and then they print this for you very inexpensively within 24 hours.
Costco can do the canvas, and you don't need a membership to get photos done there.

Changed up the look a little bit last night:

    - The black on the hood is just plastidip for now; just wanted to see how I felt about it. Going to just run it as-is for a while, but might end up eventually doing it with paint or vinyl.
    - The black on the tailgate is a sheet of vinyl that I applied and cut the stripe out of the center of it. The Dakota (Demon) decal is one I had custom made locally based off the old Demon decal.
    - Had a local car pal with a tire machine swap my tires onto the set of silver R/Ts I had.

Ran it at the MoparMax event at Cedar Falls Raceway in Cedar Falls, IA this weekend. Actually the first time I've had it down the drag strip, and only the second time I've run a stick down the strip. Really wanted to see 13s and 100mph, got close anyway.

Goals for next year are a line lock, drag radial setup, maybe something skinny up front, and some sort of ignition so I can get a 2 step going.

    Best slip of the day:

Nice job!!! Have you ever "scaled" yours to see what it is? Not meant as "corner scaling", but just weighed it?

Nope, I would like to know what it weighs though. The scale at the track was unfortunately not open.
