Thumbs up Looking for used B&M shifter

Looking for a used B&M mega or star shifter to put in my 1999 dodge dakota 5.9 r/t 46re. I'm also searching for the console insert for the floor shifter.

Is there really a console insert for a B&M shifter? See first post.

Sort of...limited run made by a forum member then the mold was sold(?) to another forum member and nothing happened. Or something like that.

Do a search, you will likely find a more accurate story.

Think Terry initially made it, sold it to Alan, then the mold got lost.

Here's mine. Will be for sale once I start the 6.4 swap. Going to a Challenger console and shifter.

I want to say the mold was being sold on Facebook not too long ago.

$300 range, I think they were just under $200 when I purchased mine in 2008.
I had someone try to give me a B&M shifter a couple weeks back when I bought some other parts off him. (Was missing some items and I didn’t need it).

Tell us more about B&M shifter. Did you hook the cable up the transmission in stock location? Does the PRD21 still work on the dash? Seems like if all you do is hook up the cable to the trans shift lever, the shifter electrical connector should stay in place and the dash and reverse lights should work.

Had this setup when I bought the truck from Alan. He had tried to it use both cables and keep the PRD21 working on the dash. Think it had some binding issues. The shifter was well used and worn out, the cable was binding and kinked. Got a used, but like new shifter, a new cable. Took out the modified bracket which was causing binding. Works well, but until you get to know it, your kind of guessing what gear your in. Even then your kind of guessing.

Other than the guessing. The cup holder is pretty much useless.

To answer the hook up question. No, the cable goes through a hole in the floor and is connected as in the install instruction. Same hook up for 727 or 904. Alan had tried to link he cables at the transmission.

I believe my 2001, the PRD21 is electric off the roster vane in the transmission to a position sensor, not off the cable. Please let me know when you get ready to sell it.

When I installed my Ford Taurus SHO floor shifter I tried running 2 cables to keep the PRND21 working. But 2 cables created too much resistance/bind. It just didn't work. I just know the feel of the shifter and mental note of what gear position I am in. Still glad I did the custom install.
