Heads are just about done. Had to get new retainers as the old ones looked like they were damaged when they were put in during the last installs.

very nice. Make sure you put liquid Teflon on the rocker studs.

Dave, do you know if your water ports on the front of the block were opened up? The R3 blocks only have a half moon shape water port because of the lower deck option.

They should be installed when I see the engine in Sept, so that should be done.

Not sure on the water ports. Was that the case on the magnum race block too? What do you see on this?

I was talking about the ones behind the water pump. The ones that restrict everything. I have the magnum block as well. See the difference.

Crap. Thats not a stock block at the top. Just noticed the extra head bolts. I found an old photo of my stock block wrapped in plastic. The water ports on a stock block behind the timing cover are the same as the first photo I posted.

Yea, I see what you are talking about. I don't know that I ever noticed that. What did you use to open it up?

He probably took care of it. I believe they all came shaped like mine. I haven't done anything to mine. Ill probably just grind them out. There's not a ton of material that needs to be removed. Its not a huge deal but it really reduces the amount of coolant and that combined with no water flowing between the cylinders doesn't help.

Valley pan is just about done also. He made spacers for the ends so they would not bow like they were before since it was bolted to the sides. This way it is held down on the ends also.

Yea, I know, the guy on moparts with the blue car has his milled off and they look really nice, but I already welded the filler tube and breather ports on there. Not sure if I can still get away with it.

Hey you mind checking out what I put up on the house build thread? See what you think of some of those changes.
