That's what I leaning too.Yea I’m thinking, mocking it all up, Tack it, pull it off and tig weld it and then remount it

So far, the ideal primary length is between 35.620 to 38.129”, with a collector length of approximately 21.388” or 42.777”. Therefore, I need to try to figure out where the collector will end, and that will be the position of the cutout. Then the resonator will be positioned behind that, and then whatever length of pipe I need to go from the resonator to the muffler.Yea I’m thinking, mocking it all up, Tack it, pull it off and tig weld it and then remount it
V bands are cleaner looking and lets you change stuff out.
Just pour your own silicon grommet. Cut a plug out of alum or delrin.
That would be so solid, I could just weld up a bracket without bushings. It would be much simpler.Cut a plug out of alum or delrin.
Since this is primarily a street toy, it will see some miles driving over Michigan potholes, railroad tracks...and I'm probably better off with some type of cushion.
Definitely looking good
Damit boy! Looking good !
If anyone is interested, I am selling the previous bullet muffler set up: https://stores.hi-potek.com/1998-200...ffler-exhaust/
The stubs at the end of each muffler are cocked at slightly different angles from each other, making it difficult to have each side time-out in precisely the same dimensions. The body is also not precisely centered from side-to-side on the frame, compounding the problem. Therefore, I can't have cookie-cutter brackets (precisely the same) for each side. Most people probably won't notice the difference, but I do, and it drives me nuts.
Trying to avoid the parking brake cable on the driver's side is a bit of a challenge too but can be managed.

A little progress on the driver's side.
Finished the driver’s side rear mounting bracket.
Decided to add a small brace to eliminate possible flexing at the grommet, which might eventually cause the welds to crack at the clamp portion.
It clears the parking cable on the side, but will have to make a cable riser atop the rear cab mount outrigger.
I will also have to make a riser so the cable clears the tubing at the front. I never use the parking brakes but I might as well make it work with the cable in place.
Owner of the fab shop I work for bought this 70s c-10 frame already built, it had the Borla exhaust setup for a ls motor, I had to take pics of the exhaust hanger setup
