A billet cover in place of the air bag would be sharp.

Damn, that looks real nice! Could you get a viper stereo head unit and have the wheel controls functional too? Or maybe aftermarket may have some sort of interface...

I really like the look of it.
I have srt8 charger seats and has red stitching as well.
In thinking about doing this myself. Maybe I'll look into srt8 charger/challenger steering wheels.
    How was the install?

I just tried to install an srt steering wheel from a 2008 and its a no go without modification. Our steering wheels don't have a deep back piece where the lx cars have a skinny steering stem that the plastic on the wheel overhangs so the plastic hits the steering column before it can bolt on

When you do the swap you will have to remove the clock spring.

Depending on the year of the Challenger/charger steering wheel it may be different.

I believe 2011 they changed the style of the wheels.

Mine slid right into the grooves perfectly. Bolted it up and worked great.

There is a slight gap between the back of the wheel and plastic bezel.

I will come up with something to cover that or paint it all black?

I don't know if anyone asked. But did you set up the buttons as well for cruise and stereo?

Pics are on the page 3..

I havnt set up the steering wheel controls yet.

I dont have cruise, nor will I ever.

Once the truck is up and running again. I will get the Bluetooth and steering wheel controls set up.

If not, its not the end of the world to reach over and turn up the volume.

Im in the process of the 6.1 hemi swap. Thats taking up the timing and money right now.

Sorry for the old thread resurrection, but did you ever wire up the steering wheel? I want to do this to my Dakota, but was not sure as to the best approach.

    Thanks

    Excellent work so far.
Steering wheel doesn't look to hard, just need to pick the right wheel. Nice gauges as well.
Are you posting the Hemi swap progress anywhere?

One of the best looking steering wheel upgrades I've seen. Nice job!
