    Default 727/904/500/518/618 Transmission Stand

I’m sick of rebuilding transmissions on the ground or rolling around on a bench. I thought about converting an engine stand for this purpose but space is limited. So I put together a bench mounted transmission stand that can be clamped to a table when in use, and stowed away in a drawer or shelf when not in use. This is primarily to work on the case. The tail shaft/OD unit can be bolted on when the case is done and on the ground, along with the torque converter.

I haven't given much consideration to selling them. I'll give it some thought though.

True. Actually, the steel table I have it mounted to is on wheels. If I had to guess, the table is about 2.5' x 3.5' and weighs around 400#. However, I would be fine if it was just mounted to a fixed table. Just trying to use the stuff I had on hand.

I may make a prototype for use on an engine stand within the next week. I have an idea for something fairly simple.

I’d like to help you out with that but I’m not rebuilding transmissions for outside sales at the moment. I hope you are able to find someone to do a good job on yours.

Thanks Richard, do you have any places around here that you can recommend? Been burned by two different trans shops in the area. I do not have the ability to pull the trans out either, so i don't think i can get a Msaine tranny

Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations locally. I haven't had the best luck in the past having trans shops do the work so now I just do my own. Not to say there isn't a good one out there. I just don't know where.

This is a prototype of a transmission holder for use with an engine stand. I'll list it on my website soon.
