Default Racing Class Definitions (group chooser info)

Below is a list of the racing classes. Each class has specific rules, these rules outline witch class you belong in and/or choose to join.

Custom user banners have been created to show which class you're in.

To choose these you go to User CP > Group Memberships > Choose class from list.
    http://www.dakotart.com/forum/profil...editusergroups

(select the leave class if you're moving to another class before choosing a new class, this way multiple banners are not displayed at the same time.)

So I guess when I get my truck up and running I will not qualify for the same trophy I won from the previous year? I will get a non r/t trophy if I was to win and not just a standard issue Gen 3 Dakota award?

Doesn't have to be an R/T. But it does have to be a Gen III.

You are still Pro N/A. Unless you made drastic changes to your chassis we don't know about.

    Classes are here.

One of these days I'll take a plasma cutter to some stuff on my truck, and take out the CD player, and all the speakers, and the A/C out, and put a Kirkey seat in, and remove the passenger seat, and take off the 100lbs+ tonou cover and lighten this truck up and show you guys how it is really done but for now, I can stay heavy and still be just as fast or faster

I'd like to see a custom tag for those of use that like to go around corners and not just a straight line!

    Like and AutoX type thing?

We would need classes for that also, I think we did it for the Durant Auto-X, but i'm not sure if that's an accurate list. Maybe someone that is better in Auto X and knows the classes.

I'm not sure what classes we've run in the past. Personally I'd prefer to go with the SCCA classes. Like with my 1979 Chevy Luv I use to run in a "D Street Prepared" Class.

Hmm, Ok. Little over my head, because I don't do it much. Although if you want, go ahead and make a thread in the site suggestions area about a SCCA banner along with the classes, I'll see what I can do.

I'm working on it. I am going to email the SCCA and get a hold of a local rep if I can and see what the classes are for the trucks these days. Once I get it figured out I will let you know. I don't think there are many classes for trucks these days but I could be wrong.

Back in the late 80's and early 90's I think they did it differently. They use to give you a classification and then look at your mods. Based on your mods they would move you up in class. It was funny though because my truck had so many mods, it handled like a go-cart and made a ton of power as far as Chevy luv's go so I got stuck racing Datsun 510's that were fully prepped for racing and had damn near 25% weight distribution at each corner. Only thing that made me competitive with them was the engine I built and the brakes I had. I use to kick the crap out of the Mazda RX-7's and any other truck that showed up.

Ok, so I was looking at the classes....for me, I guess that I would fit in with Pro Mod because I am not running a Magnum engine, it's a '98 Sport RC, 727 tranny, 3500 stall, 9.25 rearend with 4.56 gears, '71 360 bored 40 over, KB 11:1 pistons, Eagle rods, J heads with Chevy 2.02/1.70 valves, .509 purple cam, internally balanced, electronic ignition, Weiand tunnel ram setup topped with 2 600 Edelbrock carbs, full wire harness removed, rug and bucket seat removed, R/T leaf springs, R/T coils and KYB shocks to start....no spray...is this correct?
