Didn't George Hooper originally make these with the cup holder? That mold has been passed around and re-made several times since the very first one was made.

Soooo... Are they still for sale??
Since the owner of the mold says it's ok. Then yes these are still for sale

Why don't you two use your damn heads, partner up and save each other some heartache. Why doesn't party A sell blank inserts to party B where he can then modify and resell them as bolt-in ready? You don't have to be everything to all people, work together here!.. There are decent "blank" inserts already available that could use some TLC to increase their usability for commonly skilled people. Put your damn heads together instead of getting in each others way. Many ways to skin this cat instead of bickering.
I wonder how many of these inserts were purchased and sit on garage shelves. I know mine's been there for about 2 years because I lack the skills to put it in the console cleanly, to my satisfaction. I wish I could have bought one ready to bolt-in, idk maybe I'm the only one Maybe I wouldn't have ended up destroying my perfectly mint console on the premise that it would be easier to get another console if I jacked up the install, than find another insert (I waited several years for them to become available again and bought one as soon as they were. I was worried about them disappearing forever again). Now I've got a screwed up center console that I HAVE to make fit an unfinished, mount at your own creativity, insert. Who knows how long it will continue to sit unfinished. Make a drop-in insert or complete console, and I'll probably buy one because I'm tired of screwing with the one I have.
P.S... it's not like anybody is getting rich here. Anybody making new parts like this for our trucks, is basically just making them for people on this and some other internet forums. I'll be surprised if I ever see one of these in Jegs. Just sayin'

It is an idea but unfortunately - the mold for the original is the issue. A NEW mold must be made for a cleaner fit and the alterations to make it bolt in. So there is no reason to buy the inserts that need that much work to each one rather than making a good mold to start with if there is changes to the original part.
Just my .02
I dont bother trying to make much for these trucks anymore - its a borderline total bust.
And I still won't spend 175 on a clunkk piece of fiberglass I have to make work. Break the mold and move on. Next.
That's true, Todd.. I didn't consider the raw man-hours it would take to make the currently available ones work well. I suppose I just assumed they would figure that out but the inserts we have available would need a complete re-design and prototype, etc, etc, etc...
In the end I'm still glad to have snatched one up, and I hope to be able to put it in someday. I like having a lot of "once upon a time, somebody made this" parts on my truck. It's sort of a rolling piece of history of various things people have made for the community over the years. I even, finally, got my very own GSM fuel rails not too long ago. Don't worry I will figure out how to test them before I install LOL.
Pete the originals just need some love apparently but my point was if someone wanted to change or clean up the design it makes no sense to do it to each one but rather the mold. I always wanted to plastic injection mold a new console piece but it never happened. Now the two people who would buy them wouldn't justify the cost of the project LOL
I could be interested in one as well

So is anyone going to take a crack at making a new mold? Maybe one that doesn't need as much work to fit correctly? I wish I had picked up one of the originals.
I know this goes way back. But does anybody have an insert for sale?
