Default Center console floor shifter piece for 98-99

Hello so I have bought the center console floor shifter part and made a mold out of it. It's out of fiberglass and was gauging interest to see who would be interested in them. So far I have only made two. If I can see how many would want to buy one and then I can start making more ad see how much to make. I was looking to leave them in gel coat. Of if desired I could try and replicate the oem finish. I would have fasteners so you can install it. I will see how much of a bolt on part it is. Depending on how much finish work I put into it. I'm thinking about $125-175 shipped. Please let me know if you are interested. I will post more pics later today.

This is not my truck, found this on google

    Make one for a 2000

Actually it should work on a 2000 just not with the trays in front, right?

    Correct whitert

I am sorry. If you want to make them go ahead. Figured no one was making them so I'll continue it. I am trying to make it a bolt on deal with fasteners and what not already painted. So it's not a complete direct copy. I'll still have to sand and smooth to fit perfect. And I'll make my own instructions with pictures. Did not mean to offend you.

I'd be interested in one unfinished or finished. It might be cool to have one painted.

Sure if you were to build your own from scratch, sure sell away. Or buy the mold and make them at that point. But you can't make a mold off a part and sell them.

If people want to buy these all they have to do is search for who owns the mold and get in contact with that individual and discuss with that person.

Just out of curiosity could I take a peak at the patent, copyright or trademark paperwork on these? I would like to see how you go about protecting a part from anyone remaking them without spending the $$$ as I make a couple parts I would like to do that with.

I see where your coming from, but the part I bought is not a "bolt on" there is no way to mount it. I am modifying it so it can be a bolt on deal, also fitment isn't perfect either and am trying to fix that as well. Not just making a direct copy of it. Plus if its that big of a deal. Then I won't make them and the person who owns the mold can start making them. But its been years and no one is making them, so I figured ill start. Plus I thought grapejuice was the one that started making these? There was a thread back in 2009. Its been 5 yrs.

I'm no lawyer, so I have no idea. But I would think it would fall under intellectual property. A member paid for that, buy purchasing the mold and so now it would be transferred to him.

But if you guys don't see it that way. Then ignore me. I would just think we, as members of a club, would try to avoid taking money from one member pocket and give it to another.

There is also a post on here that I could try to find but no real need to that says "I know the current owner of the mold and he has no desire to make more" .... I won't mention any names of who posted that comment.

In any event I am not taking one side or the other but this stuff happens all the time.

Did this mold keep getting passed around? Seems like multiple people made these, was it multiple molds?

No glen renzoni made it then Alan got it I believe then someone else etc.....

But I don't see the harm making a part that was otherwise collecting dust. I could have been a dickhole and told James no when he asked if he could copy the side skirts, that would have been a big help to the rest of you, eh?????????

I think that's the issue.. Current owner of the mold doesn't seem to have been asked anything in regards to it.

And just for the record.. That thread from 2009 was not the last of these being made. I know for certain of at least one that was made in around 2012.

I have it. Directly from the mold, not a third party sale.

Ok gotcha. Well if the owner of the mold wants to Continue making these then go ahead and I won't continue. But if the owner does not feel like making more. Then I'll start making these

Ok well I would like one of these and alan quit making them before I could get one and then it just sat dormant. And for all you fact checkers out there this is interesting reading. Things like "the owner of the mold couldnt care less to make more" and "its just sitting on my shelf"

Great so if I buy the mold to something cool I will just bury it in my backyard so noone can have one. I have always been the FIRST guy to stand up to get things done for these buckets of bolts we drive and gave long periods of my life to developing parts, I just dont understand the mentality behind handcuffing people. NOW that being said if the owner of the mold was making and producing these on a regular basis and this happened that would be messed up.

For all your fact and viewing pleasure, read below link:

My problem is that he tried to get the instructions for the mold I bought from Alan so he could compete against it. He knew I had the mold and instructions and should have asked if I planned to make more or buy the mold.

    That's my problem.

Go ahead and make these as I'm done with this mold shit. I will sell the mold if anyone is interested.
Well I read that thread I posted and never even thought to ask you due to the comments that were made.

I am just trying to get my truck back going again and need some stuff. Again I was not taking sides just was giving my point of view based on comments that were made.

    How much for the mold?

FYI, I used a Bedliner in spraycan on the one I made, it makes for a very close match to the color and texture of my truck interior.

Yes I did pm leud and crewed and he made it seem like I contacted the wrong person. Also I wasn't going to copy your instructions but that's my word. And I said I'll make my own instructions. I did not know you made the part. Plus as stated before it seemed like you weren't makin any more. That's why I wanted to make them. So that's were the handcuffing is. Let's have a mold but not make it. And not do anything with it so people can't make it. I did not know your still making
Them. It's no where on this form that I can find. So my mistake. Yes I was going to do carbon fiber but lots of people don't want that look. Plus like stated I wanted to make these bolt on and possibly sell them with the oem look so it's not a direct copy. I have to do sanding and fitment then made a mold. Wasn't a direct copy.
Again if your still makin these I'll stop. Didn't mean to make this a flame war type thread. Just wanted to help people out who wanted these and couldn't get their hands on one.
