Running the A/C in the staging lanes will kicked you off some tracks if they see it dripping still as you pull into the starting line.

Real race trucks don't have a/c
If you have street tires on the front you shoudln't be pulling through the water box, and none of the tracks I have been to will let you. They make you drive around and back into it with just the rear tires. If you have water dripping from your A/C running and it gets the track wet it could cause one of the high HP actual race cars to lose traction and spin out. You don't want to be the person responsible for that.

I just know that the AC feels pretty darn good on the return road - once I get my helmet off.

No I'm not selling it, and that heavy pig isn't running yet, I have been in Florida the past week
It is nice to go run a dam near 10 sec pass, put your street tires on and turn on the a/c and stop and get some ice cream.
Hell yeah it does!
Every track I have been to wants you to drive around the water and back up--the first time I went to english town I went around and backed up the guy with the hose comes over and bangs on my window and says I don't know what backwoods track you are from but we don't do that here. This was at the mopar nats, so I calmly take my helmet off take the belt off and get out. The starter and another guy comes over cause now aint nobody racing with me parked in the lane ,the other guys saw him bang on my window and when I say bang I mean hard. This assclown is just standing there like an idiot when I say come on over and hit my fucking truck now that I'm not in it. All the shit calms down with an I'm sorry and the track anouncer comes over the intercalm and says if you don't want to drive through the water you can go around and back up. It's just plain stupid to track water up the lane with street tires.

If you go to TnT on a friday night - they generally don't even put water down in the burnout box. That keeps the street tires from tracking it anywhere. I usually have to request a little shot of it for a burnout.
