Do you need an install kit when replacing the LSD or is that only for when swapping gears?

You will at least need carrier bearings and a crush sleeve. You might as well freshen everything up if you're in there and re-setting the mesh. I prefer to use OEM crush sleeves, they are only like 8 bucks.

If you are planning on doing this yourself, you will need some specialized tools and more than one crush sleeve as you'll likely ruin the first one getting the hang of it.

I'm checking with Richard to see of he's interested in doing this group buy.

Probably won't run this till later in February. Gives everyone a chance to get their tax refunds.

I'll take an LPW for the Ram. still have the cover & trans pan you did for me on my R/T. Actually the trans pan never made it onto the truck. But it has a nice cozy spot on a shelf, in the garage. It will go on the trans that I have PIE (ducking from the haters) build for me this year.

Is anyone going to want a 4.10/11 gear? or are you all on board with just 4.56's?

Richard at HiPoTek tried to make this happen. His prices are already very low so I'm in the process of finding a different supplier.

Since some of you don't want Yukon gears I'm trying to find places that carry Richmond. Nitro gears are another option.

Right now I'm dealing with Randy's Ring & Pinion. They are willing to do a group buy. I'm putting together a list of parts so they can get prices.

If they can't beat Richards prices then I'm afraid this is going to be a wash. I don't think I'll have any better luck elsewhere. But I'll give a couple others a shot before I give up.

Id be down for a 4.10/.11 but I know Randy's doesn't sell the brand that has that gearset. Also were we looking into Detriot Lockers at all? Id like to have Randy's build be me a whole new setup next winter - Hope to find a 03 Junkyard 9/4 with Disc brakes, drop it off with them, and then swap it in later!!

This is what Randy's Ring & Pinion quoted me based on everyone's replies.

Randy's does not carry a diff girdle. So I'd have to do a group buy with another vendor for those.

I'm waiting to hear back from JustDifferentials.

They carry Nitro brand gears. I've read lots of good reviews on these. They have a Nitro diff girdle. And like most everyone they carry Detroit/Eaton.

They also have top quality components in their master install kits.
