Default New Best! First best? 13.72@101.57

    Heavy Mod N/A Class

Well, I finally made it down the dragstrip, only took me 5 years since buying the truck

I ran at the Sacramento mini-Nats, the track prep and air seemed decent. I left my truck on street tires and full weight, I really wanted to know exactly how fast it is in its daily driver form. It weighed in at 4425 with me in it.

First two runs of the day:

run 1- plan was burnout in second, race it in drive. I forgot to put it in drive and bounced the rev limiter in second for a bit before I realized my mistake- 14.075 @96.89

run 2- same as run one, except I remembered to put it in drive first. It ended up grabbing third at 6,000, I knew it had another 500 in it. 13.86 @ 101.06

    Next two runs:
run 3- left in second, shifted to 3rd at 6600, best run & best 60ft of the day. 13.72 @ 101.57

run 4- first round of eliminations and randomly selected for a bye run- lucky too, I left OD on. 13.94 @ 95.94

run 5- second round against Corey, he thought he was going to break out and lifted right before I passed him. 13.76 @ 101.73

run six- semi-finals against Doug (landbutcher), trucks were warming up, but I was closer to dial- 13.839 @ 101.49

run 7- Final eliminations against Bruce Bridges- we both raised our dials because of the heat, then the track decided to let us sit and cool a bit. End result- we both broke out, Bruce was .194 too fast, I was .042 too fast for the win

Now that it seems fairly consistent with mid 13.70s in street trim, its time to see what some race prepping can do

Oh, BTW- I'm #17 if you didn't figure that out.

Also- I was done racing by the time I learned that you get a yellow paper if you lose

My truck is pretty much the exact same setup that it's been for the last 2 years except for the 4.56s that were installed a few months before last years Nats trip, and the 20s that I got last November. I'll see if I can remember it all.

    Engine-
    -Stock rotating assembly and block
-R/T heads- started as 2.02 castings, currently they have 2.08/1.60 Ferrea valves, Hughes beehive springs, 5 angle valve job, blended bowls, and light valve un-shrouding in the chambers. Ports and guides are as-cast. Milled .050"
    -FelPro 1008 head gaskets
    -Delta cams regrind- 207/211, .524/.524, 111 LSA
    -Mopar lifters
    -Crower 1.7 rockers
    -Jomar stud girdles
-GTS hood and matching air box
    -F&B 52x55 TB
    -4bbl M1 manifold
-Mopar/PPH headers into single 3" magnaflow
-GC fan in place of mechanical fan
    -Dyno tune by Westech Performance

    Drivetrain:
    -Martin Saine 2800 stall
-Martin Saine 46re with third gear TCC delete and GM governor conversion
    -Yukon 4.56 gears
    -Rebuilt trac-loc diff

    Suspension:
Front- GroundForce 3" drop springs, Belltech street performance shocks, hotchkis swaybar

Rear- 2" blocks, GroundForce shocks, hotchkis swaybar.
