In all of your experiences, how accurate are these racers "rules of thumb"?
#1 A tenth in the 60ft equals 2 tenths in the 1/4
#2 100lbs is worth one tenth
Also- for those who have done it, how much time did you drop by switching to a short belt?
The reason I ask, is that I ran with street tires getting 2.25 - 2.15 60ft times, full belt with A/C and I had the spare, tonneau, and tailgate all in place that could have dropped a quick 200-250 lbs if removed.
Assuming that drag slicks could have got me a 1.8 60ft and the weight loss could get me another two tenths it would add up to one full second, plus gains from the short belt. The only problem with that- it seems unrealistic that I could turn my 13.70's into 12.70s or less.
What say you? is there 12s in my truck, or are those sayings bullshit?
