    Just talked to ME11, he only built the shortblock. The "previous owner", who shall remain nameless, did the cam and heads install. So, the mystery deepens. I have no idea what cam is in that now, or if it was installed properly. What do you guys think, open it up and check out the cam install, or what ?

    Ok here are some of the various scanner readings like you guys asked. The first few are just with the key on. Then it varies from closed loop and open loop (it tells you which is which) as the truck kept dying and restarting etc.

    Continued, the TPS % dropped as I tried to get it to idle lower, the % had to be about 14.5 just to get it to try and idle at 650. It would quickly decrease in rpm and die at that speed but anything more than 14.5% and it was back at 1000rpm...

    You know my stance on this. Especially now... I could have sworn it got a small cam... and the fact that it has stock rockers on it just makes me :confused

    If its only 8.6 at 1000 RPM, start tearing that front cover off... you got some sleuthing to do. Im betting there is a cam in that thing, and the stock rocker setup may have caused some issues...

    No, I'm getting the physical reading from where the cruise control would connect on the firewall, and I'm getting the map from the side of the manifold

    Now we are cooking with fire!!

    You cannot pull an accurate vacuum signal from that spot because that is backed up by the vacuum canister thats hidden under the cowl. You need to hook your mechanical gauge to the side of the intake and get a reading there..

    Thats the next step If you still have only 8-10 inches of vacuum at that idle RPM, we are getting closer to finding some answers..

    Try a different MAP then. And if you didnt do it when you re-routed the MAP, put new hose on it.
