    Default heater core replacement Question

How many hours does it take to change out a heater core ?
I have a friend that needs one changed in a Durango, 01 I think, she wants me to do it, I'm just trying to find out how much to charge her.
Sorry but I didn't search the site first.

If you haven't done one before, give yourself a solid 8hrs.

I think Chrysler book time is 7hrs.
Danno may be able to pull it up for you.

Make it easier on yourself and pull the front seats. Taking the front seats out will take 15-20 mins but give you so much extra room to work and make the entire job faster and easier.

Do a search under Corey's posts. He did the one in his truck and he took lots of photos. It should help you out quite a bit.

My heater core crapped out on me years (10?) ago, only weeks after I replaced my blower motor.
Heater is becoming more important now, with these freak winters we keep having in Dallas. I've regretted driving my truck a few times, due to frozen windshield, wouldn't have taken it out if I really knew how cold it would be.

a few weeks ago I R&R'd the evaporator and recharged the system in under 5 hours on a 98 dakota. first time i ever did it. Had the HVAC box out and on a bench in under 2 hours.
