    Then what's the point?

What are you doing to trash your synchros? My tranny has a lot of miles on it.

On a '98 truck like ours you just need the pcm from the 5.2 man, it wont be able to tell the diff. I'm gonna put sct on mine as well fwiw. And from all the info
ive read the HD version came behind the 5.2 on gen3 daks and all HD's 3.4xx 1st gear

Before you drop money on a manual PCM, email Sean, I think he can write a manual trans tune to program your auto PCM, since it IS a 98 if you had one of the post 00 trucks, I think all he can do is remove the limp mode, and it'll always be looking for the auto.

got the pedals install over the wknd. pedal boxes are the same just the pivot shaft length is different. simple as pulling the e-clip off one side a sliding it out. its easier to put the manual shaft in without the plastic bushing that go in the box and putting them in second. also had to bend the brake light switch backet a little to work right.

more to come as i get time

how long did it take you to do the pedal swapping? that's one thing that I've always looked at and thought "man that would be a pain in the butt to do" because it always looks so hard to get at, way up under the dash where my fat arms and hands struggle to reach sometimes.

heres an interesting Q: how do you index the flywheel on an externally balanced motor

NVR called my mach. shop flywheel bolts only line up 1 way

Haha. Yup. The flywheel only lines up one way. An interesting point is that Chrysler used the same flywheel bolt pattern on everything but the 426 hemi. (not sure about 4.7s, but I know the new hemi's use a different pattern too)

So if you're building an internal balance motor, ANY old neutral balance flywheel will work... As long as you don't need the CPS (carb or stand-alone EFI w a bolt on crank trigger)

Sat started putting it back together
manual CPS & pilot bearing in

    cleaning the flywheel

flywheel is in (wiped it down once more, for good measure)

    dual friction in

trans in with only minor strugle

    couple of notes
1-its possible to remove the 46re w/o removing any exhaust (tho very tight) however its not possible it put the NV3500 in (the bellhousing is a lil taller and wider to clear the clutch)

2- on the re the rev light switch is part of the park/neutral switch, so what i plan to do is to grd the center wire and use a reverse light connector from a manual truck on the two outside wires

3- there's a secret 2nd trans cooler in between the condenser and the rad. and it looks like you have to pull the bumper to get to it? (save removing it for the motor swap)

    4-the NV3500 is appox. 5in shorter than the 46RE

5- Manual CPS connector has offset locating tab, Auto tab is centered. (shaving off the tab to fit)

    more to come...

Yup. I kept thinking he was referring to RPM as rev...hence the confusion!!

My TKO has it's own switch...but I'll need to tap into the factory wires still.

    Yup. aka "Back up lights"

automatic cars have the switch intigrated with the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) manual transmissions use a clutch safety switch, so they just need a simple 2 wire Reverse light switch.

What I would give to have a T-56 tranny behind my setup. It would be so fun to slam gears down the track!
