[QUOTE=Lonesoldier79;492203]So today started off good. I got a call from my wife that I had 3 big boxes at the house waiting for me when I got home

I've been storing my RT at my company's corporate house since it has a 5 car heated garage and the company owner is letting me store in one of those garages for free. I hadn't driven the Ape in a few weeks, so after work I went over to the house to take it for a cruise. When I got to the house to get the truck there were two puddles of water running from under the truck. Turns out one of the couplings in the A/W intercooler lines had burst and the A/W intercooler had broken weld seems. I opened up the reservoir to see solid ice. It has been getting pretty cold here, but I never changed out the water for alcohol because it was in a heated garage. Unbeknownst to me the owner turned off the heat in the garages over the holidays while no one was staying at the house. I thawed everything out and refilled the reservoir, turned on the pump to watch water gushing out of the intercooler Looks like it either needs rewelded and pressure tested or I'm out 300 and some change for a new one. At least the pump still worked and none of the AN fittings busted.

THAT SUCKS!! Anyone that lives in a cold climate should know NOT to turn heat completely off in the winter!

What can you do? The guy signs the pay checks that allow me to support my family and the truck. He hasn't been back in market yet, but I'm trying to find a tactful way to say "Hey asshole why did you turn the heat off and fuck my shit up?" without getting fired

Shouldn't you have drained the water out? Don't you only need the air/water at the race track?

I should have posted this earlier, but I went to a really good auto body place that specializes in full auto restoration in Wilkesboro, NC today to get a quote to paint my truck. 6k-7k and that includes Rhino lining the bed. The work I've seen them do is top notch and they promised me it would be completed in 8 weeks. I better start donating sperm and plasma again like crazy to afford it anytime soon

Attampted to take the tranny dust cover off to inspect the torque converter. Got hung up on the stud that the starter attaches to, didn't budge at all.

Looked at it in garage. Thought about taking it out for a drive since roads were dry, then looked at the snow still on driveway in front of truck and thought better of it. Would have taken me a couple hours to clear it out enough to get truck out. It's got a sheet of ice underneath and snow is hard and crusted from past couple days of rain.

Started it and let in run for 1/2 an hour. Shut it off, and went back in the house

Dropped it off at the tranny shop this morning to check for loose flexplate bolts. Bolts were tight so they're dropping the tranny on suspicion of the flexplate being cracked....

Edit: Madboy, that was the plan but the weathers shit, nowhere to work dry, but mostly no time with my regular job. Mechanic says theyre tight anyways, so we'll see how it goes when they drop it.

Picked up some Hotchkis sway bars for my 4x4 on ebay for almost half price, pretty stoked

also changed the waterpump, looks to be original with 130k miles, tons of play. Kept my NAPA pump I bought in 2005 for the old truck and got a new replacement! They honored the lifetime warranty but said they don't do it anymore, I don't really mind as the pump from the old truck was still working fine when I pulled it last summer, the new one is NAPA brand made by Gates, so I'm not going to complain

WOOH HOOH! I bought it a new upgrade today! I got a discontinued 128GB flash drive for the radio for $25! Yea, I'll still only listen to the same 1GB collection of songs but it's 128GB! These things do make me feel old because I bought a 128MB compact flash card in 2001 for my first digital camera and it was $90, and I honestly don't understand how such a massive amount of data can be put on something so tiny for such little money.

I bought it today while I was at Office Depot and just as an FYI their wifi firewall lets me go to Facebook but dakotart.com is blocked. I guess it's all this damn truck porn
