Thread: What did you do to your R/T today?

Well, finally got through and they did a remote login to my pc and fixed the issue. First tune with Ryan is now loaded up, and I must say the truck feels awesome. Low end feels amazing. Much, much better than even before the M1. Can't wait to install my 2800 stall converter.

Sometime in 2010, I think, I damaged the fender wheel liner and fixed it with black duct tape. It kinda slipped through the cracks since it was a virtually invisible problem but I went to the junk yard and got a new one for about $6 and installed it. I didn't even need to remove the tire which came as a welcome surprise.

Do you know what size the clips or push rivets they are? I have to reinstall my passenger side. Had to remove to install my fender and broke all rivets.

They are some sort of plastic rivet, but I couldn't find enough of them for sale to do it, and the ones I found were pretty expensive at about $1.20 each.
I ended up getting these Ford Panel Retainers 963-010 at Autozone. http://www.autozone.com/screws-pins-...rs/493551_0_0/

They don't have to be very long because all they do is go through the plastic liner and the metal of the fenders. These do have an unnecessary thingie at the top, but these were the best fitting pins I could find. I figured that extra piece will make it easier to pull them out later if I need to.

Thanks SynRG. I will pick them up. Cheap is a plus for rivets.

Dropped it off with my mechanic to have the 2800 stall put in and some engine noise looked at. Hoping the noise is something minor, just a ticking near the rear of the engine.

Had to pull the truck out in the slop so I could race a chipped 6.0L Powerjoke, then proceeded to drag his ass by about 6 lengths. Mind you I had a weight reduction with no headlight housings installed Then pulled the truck into the pit, gave it a bath and put the new one piece housings in.

Lol that's a funny way to refer to it. I think it will hit puberty a little late at 14 or 15, but as long as it doesn't have to wait as long as that kid from Webster I'm fine

How they treat you down there? NHRA tech rules? Is there a ton of cars limiting you to just a few laps. Reason why I ask is Vegas is mayhem on T&T nights. Just as I got my rig modded out, Speedworld closed. ARG!

The track was a clusterflop for quite a long time after the promoter and track manager of years left.
The new management at the time had no clue about how to run the track - and it showed.
They got yet another management group that understand how it's supposed to work - and is making it work well.
Now they treat the racers well and the track prep is kept up quite well!
The number of cars is now very reasonable - and the quality of cars has gone up tremendously.
There is no longer issues with hundreds of spectators parking in your pit spot if you go make a pass down the track.

    That's all the good news.
The bad new - if it's actually "bad", is that they now charge more.
    $40 for T&T, and $15 per spectator.
I think that's how they fixed it.
The increase in price seems to be keeping the riff-raff out and the improvement is dramatic.

It's all NHRA tech rules - and their new "Tech Director" knows what he's looking at and for.

going through the new r/t and getting rid of anything that's no supposed to be there and fixing the little things as I go. this is what I got going so far.

    day I got it

couple days later started cleaning it

grabbed the seats from the 02

was easier to work on the exhaust and wiring with the bed out of the way

put a new door, the last one had a huge den through the bodyline so I wasn't going to try and fix it

and here's my pile of part this far and there more in the garage lol

Got the battery plugged back in and first start of the year and I also washed the 50 lbs. Of dust off of it! Oil changes and fluid checks coming up before driving it this year!
