Yea, I messed with it before school started so I could get the engine in, but it sits on the floor right now. Had to cut a lot didn't you? Or did your trans not have the ears on it?

Realized the oil in my intake is from the pcv and not the plenum. Contemplated getting rid of it for the 1000th time this month

I had to cut off the transmission ears and make a new shifter bracket and fit the belt extension to clear the neutral safety switch.

That is what I should have done, I cut the shield, but I also have a blanket under my carpet.

How much? you are only allowed to trim the shield cutting it to a certain extent voids the sfi rating as it is considered a structure weak point.

Enough to get around the ears. I am not much worried about the SFI rating. I thought if you cut it at all it went out the window.

They allow for some trimming of the edges as castings vary but cutting it will void the sfi rating.

Yea I am more concerned with my own safety vs the sfi rating. Hence the blanket and the shield.

Yeah it sucks a fat one. Running for points takes up quite a few weekends and had a lot of other shit going on this summer...maybe next year.
