Did first plug change since owning her, took out some good looking 5224's for a fresh set. Also put on a fresh belt.
Discovered I ordered plug wires for a 96-98 360, and the spark plug boots are too short to fit
Installed new fogs to replace the cracked factory ones.

Ordered a 1/2" carb spacer and got it in the mail today. It should raise the shaker up a tad and make it look proper. Plan on installing it later tonight!

That's what I'm planning on. I think I'm going to pull the engine while the trans is out for a cam swap, weld a bung on the oil pan for the oil temp sending unit, pull the heads to do a little more bowl work and upgrade the springs, as well as check the piston-to-valve clearance. It's been sitting too damn long.

Get rid of the POS heat shields around the plugs. Boot length shouldn't make a difference on if they will snap onto the plugs.

It crossed my mind to pull them out, but at this point (factory original truck) decided it wasn't worth the time/knuckle skin. I might clean up the motor as I go, but I have a slight perversion to keeping her totally stock for the time being.
    Protecting my resale value.....

I double checked, and they screwed up the order. Wires shall be exchanged, all will be right once more.

somewhere,,, there's someone hunting for a factory original, right down the spark plug boot heat shields dakota r/t,,, and I'll find this person and the look on their face when I pop that factory original rusted hood,,, priceless.
Plus the judges dock points for non-original, or missing parts.

You'd be hard pressed to find any car show judge that even knows there are supposed to be heat shields around the plugs. And they usually end up causing more problems than they are with with trapping dirt and corrosion.
