I'm tired of these got damn Chinese covers fucking leaking, I have spent money on gaskets and now spacers to "stop the leak" that I could have just bought these to begin with.

Ordered a new convertor for it,gonna pull the Viper 3600 out for an edge 2800.Just want to make it generate a little less heat so I can drive it more here in Phx.

The Viper will be for sale after I get the X-brace and trans cross member from Richard so I can do it all at once. The Viper has less than 500 miles on it and works fantastic, but just don’t think I need that much convertor in something I’m gonna drive a little more regularly.

Didn't do much really, Notched the frame and welded in a plate to clear the aluminum oil pan, moved the steering rack and dropped the engine in.

20180608_144900 (3).jpg noticed this while trying to get the transmission pan to stop leaking. Called them but they didn't have the records of the build anymore. They said it had to be prior to 2003. So not sure what is in there, but I'm guessing Jasper put it there.

I posted about this earlier this week - but it must have gotten lost in the reboot/recover site deal.

I managed to put on a nice big smoke show this week on my way into work in the black truck.....
Running about 70 mph on the freeway, and leaned into the throttle a bit - then the truck slowly pirouetted a nice 360 spin across 3 lanes before I gathered it up and pulled it over onto the shoulder. All good, I didn't hit anybody or any thing, and nobody hit me!

The actual smoke would be mainly from the burning transmission fluid that went all over any and everything under the truck. The crimped fitting on the trans cooler line let go! Man that thing is covered in trans fluid on all sides - and dripping from everywhere.

Actually I consider this an absolute stroke of GOOD LUCK. If this would have happened at the track - It would have bounced off the wall numerous times, caught fire because the turbo manifold would have been glowing bright red and hot, and of course I would have made SO many new friends after the track would have had an extended shut-down to clean it all up! The fact that it was still fairly cool meant that it didn't catch fire. Not hitting or getting hit was a bonus. And to make it even better - since it was on my way to work, it wasn't even hot out yet - AND I coasted to the shade of an underpass while I waited the hour for a tow-truck.

So now I will go mop up the roughly 6'x20' puddle of trans fluid in the garage and see If I can't clean this thing up some before I take the line back to the place that made it and ask them why this happened.

Holy hell. That must have puckered the pie hole. Glad you and the truck are alright. Sounds like it could have been much worse.

SOOOO glad you didn't get hit by or hit anyone/anything else! I lost the arse end of mine in an off ramp (loop under the bridge) a few years ago. I was headed for a rear-end hit on the outside jersey barriers. I blipped the throttle a couple times and managed to spin it to the inside lane.
And, yes, the under side clean-up is a mess. My M Saine converter ate my trans pump on the highway. Spewed fluid all over the exhaust pipes and under belly. At least our r/t's won't rust from the bottom up!

Just that one prototype. Took us almost a day and a half to get the code on the micro controller dialed in. Shuts off at about 10 minutes, 15 seconds. Close enough.

Finally got the bumper and roll pan painted, and the new fender liners installed. Front bumper already needs some sag adjusted out, I know.
