Just curious, what is a 2-stage powder coat?

Was explained to me as a primer then color for a more durable coating.

First time really out driving this year. High idle and down shifting issue resolved last year, but not really fully tested. Reporting it running great now. Took out for Back to the Brick rolling cruise.

Ordered some Belltech 3" drop leaf springs for the daily. My Hotchkis leafs didn't hold up well to a f'kd up railroad crossing.

YEP! I forgot about the crossing too, don't ever travel on that stretch. New-ish paved road by my work (45mph zone). Smooth road with normal looking crossing until you go over it. Co-worker felt like he got a little air in his BMW going over.

Yea, if you look closely at the broken piece, it looks as though half was already partially split (rusted).

$365 for Belltech's was easy enough to slap them in and call it a day. Sits about 1" higher though.
I do plan to take the Hotchkis springs to a shop and have them ressurect them one day. Just didn't have time to find shop, drop off and wait.

Are those belt tech leaf springs a full 3 inch drop for a regular Dakota or are they 2 inch for our r/t’s

Yes? 3" for normal trucks, 2" for R/Ts.
