Another thing, the further away from ones house it seems the less likely one is to drag race if they don't have a trailer. Everyone wanted to drag race, what did we have 10 trucks that actually raced? Now it wouldn't of mattered if no one raced because the cost was the basic entry fee for the Mopar Nats.

I chose not to race because I know how chaotic it can be trying to race at the nats. it's a huge event with tons of classes, and all kinds of people racing. I didn't want to spend all weekend sitting in the staging lanes or standing by a PA speaker to hear them call the class. And as it turned out this weekend...weather made racing difficult anyway.

and on top of that, I know my water pump is leaking a little bit around the shaft, and that it needs replaced. Out of the respect of the guys making serious power this weekend, I didn't want to be the guy who put a few drops of antifreeze on the track that puts someone into the wall on the big end.

If we were at an event like Larue where track prep consists of sweeping the dirt and mud off the track after the red necks run their mud trucks and quads down the track, then I probably would have raced.

I drove 7hr's with no safety net and made 3 passes in the two days between the rain drop's and Golf Karts and full lane's it was still worth every penny and PITA tire change / traffic jam / Golf Kart Jockey

Working on it! We have to make sure the dates line up for LFC at TMS, and the auto-x we have to contact the people that do it and see if they can open the blacktop the same day for us...

The only thing I really have to figure out is a decent hotel to hold everyone for a reasonable price in the central area.

Other then that it's all planned out. I'm going to sit down with Bob and Alan either this weekend or next and get a proposal setup on paper with all the figures... so relax!

Is it sad I want TX sooo bad so I can meet mythical machines like that weirdo with the red RC from NM. Maybe even pull that black rc with the crazy high fuel psi. Or just get schooled by a guy with a white CC with a turbo.

Forget the cheap beer, find a microbrewery with good beer. NE guys are beer snobs.

I figured that, I assumed the picnic would be a good place for everyone to load up and head out from. It's big enough to bring all the trailers so anyone that has to take off from the picnic can load everything up and split, we have to rent the place out for the whole day, so I figured it would be an all day event. Early morning we can do the show/shine and then after that people can split.

Or another option is to have the show/shine at the TMS Laps for Charity.

If it's ahead of time I would think more people would plan to have that following Monday off to relax after the drive then head back to work.

I thought most of the Nats was 3 day events, no?

How many people at the Ohio meet left Sunday Morning?

For most people, the only festivity on sunday is an early breakfast, then a full day of driving.

Robby left at 430am, we left around 930. Some people left the night before. I think there were only a handful of trucks left when we split.

Texas would be a two day drive at least for us. There's no way I'd drive that straight through.
