If you're gonna go through the trouble of swapping in a LS, new Hemi, big block, etc. you're in the same class as the guys that built a R3 engine. If you want a ls1 because it's "faster for cheaper" then show us how fast it is, and don't bitch when you line up next to a truck like Adakotartguy's or dakfink's. That's the class you're in, put up or shut up

That mean's a 5.9 sit's under the hood.
We do have 5.2's around and hell even some 4.7's.
But look around 90% of topic's on here are related to mod's to 5.9 motor's and making them faster, that said I think your swap is "Hot Rod cool" but that's about it. I lost interest after the first 5 sec's of your build I'm not a closet Chevy Guy nor do I care about Ls1 and how great it is or cheap for that matter

IMO They belong on another forum, but I see them adding some good info on hear about different mod's.As do some 4x4 Guy's and old school Mopar's with new Magnum power. I'm sure you too can contribute good info on here related to truck performance. But let's not get carried away with Banner's for NON Mopar powered truck's it's not what this site is about. Next we will be building a Ls1 section .

You know I remember Topeka and they wouldn't even let Duner in the group photo with his R/T not [I thought this sucked] But Duner being the guy that he is just shrugged it off.At the truckin nats the following year he welcomed every R/T'er that showed up into his home.My point lighten up people his truck has a Z code serial number,so we have half converted a chevy guy give him time, he will see why us [MOPAR] people are so rabid about the brand

Just my opinion; but an LS1 isn't equivalent to an R3. It's more inline with a Hemi swap.

Those were slightly different times for the club. A stock 4.7 5-speed was quicker than the R/T off the showroom floor, and number of people didn't think too highly of that idea. Putting a turbo on one really hurt some feelings. As Barry mentioned, they didn't even want the 4.7 in the pic of trucks lined up in Topeka. They kept moving me back a row at a time until I finally got the hint.
For the final round in Tucson - my opponent's nitrous bottle had run out, so I had him covered by a full second. I knew that the club was too "fragile" to accept a 4.7 R/T Not taking the Outlaw Class Trophy and it would have turned ugly. Some were pissed off and up in arms that I was even allowed to race it at the National meet. Winning was out of the question. I left on the first yellow to red light it away and make sure a Z-code won it. Then ran it out the back door so there was no mistake about who would have won. I had my fun...I didn't need the trophy.
