Stock trucks are rated at 250hp and put about 190 to the wheels. Interpret that as you will. I'm not aware of anyone with engine dyno results who then bolted the motor to a 46re/9.25 and got it chasis dynoed.

We did the FI to carb swap several years ago on my Gen1 dakota. With the stock long block,Pro Products Crosswind "air gap wanna be" intake and a ebay 650 D/P carb it went 13.70 and I cant remember the MPH. We also put in a 727 with a PTC 9.5" converter with 3.73s, drag radials, and race weight was 3500 lbs. We swapped the heads for a new set of R/T 2.02s heads and a moparts mystery cam and it ran 12.50s @ 105mph first pass. It has run a best of 12.27 at 107 mph in perfect weather and with a 175 shot it has run 10.92@122mph. This was with shorty headers and 2 into 1 3.5" exhaust and a flowmaster RV muffler. We have since put a bullet reground cam, long tube headers, x-pipe and magnaflows. I hope to be able to make it to the track soon to see if it likes the changes.
The same truck with the factory MPFI, stock manifolds, 44rh,3.55 gears ran 14.20's@96mph wayyy back(2000ish) when I first dropped in the engine and factory efi. Pretty cool how much abuse a straight from the junkyard 360 can handle,it's been 12 yrs and it runs stronger each year.
