    Default distributor gear and distributor placement

    i did this awhile ago and cant remember where they need to face. at tdc where does the distributor gear face? also whats roughly where the distributor needs to face to be close to +4 fuel sync until i take it in? thanks
    410, 10.3 comp pistons, P&P Eddies, 254 cam, 30lb injectors, sct tuner, 3800 viper stall, 4:56 yukon gears, hotchkis tvs, m1 4brrl, 58mm f&b tb, 1.7 rr, electric fan, jm longtube headers, B&M hammer shifter, Cope Racing Trans, Viper Brakes, SRT8 Seats, nx wet kit(100 shot)
    best time 11.32 @ 118 1.59 60' on spray(old motor). 11.76@115 n/a(new motor)

    I remember the rotor points towards the front bolt on the driver side of intake!

    ok cool thanks, anyone have more info? i know there was a position to have the cap also.

    thats how mine is, starts and runs normal like factory. for some reason out of 3 motors installed all were 180 out from the start

    I preset mine with that notch every time. Ive only been off by about 4 degrees each time. Works like a champ.

    When you drop in the distributor drive shaft, the slot in the top of the shaft should point toward cylinder #1 and or the left front intake bolt. It should face this direction after it has fully rotated in against the cam gear and it is seated.

    Drop in the distributor and line the distributor shaft up with the slit in the drive shaft. Place the cam sensor on the distributor. Take note on the face of the cam sensor itself, there is an indentation on the edge and "CYL NO1" is printed on the cam sensor. When you place your rotor button on the distributor, it will face this mark and the "CYL NO1" annotation. When you place your distributor cap on, the number one spark plug wire will be right over top of the "CYL NO1" annotation on the cam sensor.
