Do any of you guys know of any companies that sell sfi approved bellhousings for our 46re? I was gonna go with an rci transmission blanket but need something for the bellhousing. What do you drag racers run?

Nothing out there that I know off. I'm going to get a blanket made within the next few months.
Here you go.

Once I have my 46re back this week, I'll measure seeing I have a TF727 in the garage.
Rules aside, there is still an off chance that if your sprag fails the drum can explode in a 46re. Low band apply makes sprag failure more likely, but if it does fail you can stil overspeed the drum. This is unlikely unless you are turning serious RPM when it fails though. Billet drum/shield/blanket and or sprag upgrade are all a "not a bad idea" when you are in there, regardless of how fast you are going.

I am waiting to hear if that shield fits our transmissions. Now that I've gone to a 4" down pipe there isn't much room between it and the trans blanket.... Like NONE and it's melting.

Now that I've made a tubular crossmember for the 46RE, I'm in the process of pulling the 46RE for a rebuild, and installing a 727 trans in order to make a tubular crossmember for that. I'll try to take some pics of each trans and take a few measurements. I too am thinking the 727 case might be a little smaller but will see.
I am not aware of any SFI approved flex plate for our set ups.
I am also interested in a tubular cross member for 727. Make sure to include a built in safety loop.

The top of the tubular crossmember should be even with the bottom of the frame rail.DIBBS...Espcially if clears my 3.5" collectors
I considered doing that with the 46RE crossmember but it seemed to be too much cantilevered off the crossmember for structural integrity. I will look at it again though.I am also interested in a tubular cross member for 727. Make sure to include a built in safety loop.
Standard 46re placement of loops is too far back, since the 727 is shorter.

IIRC, the difference is around 2.5" in length. And IIRC, you have 6" from the u-joint in which to place the loop. I'll have to start mocking it up and see where things are. Then determine what is involved, if it makes sense, and if there will be enough sales to offset the design time, wasted materials, and expense to make a jig. I hope to have some answers soon.Standard 46re placement of loops is too far back, since the 727 is shorter.
It would be nice to use a poluyurethane transmission mount and ditch the stock rubber mount, right now most everyone with a 727 is using a stamped steel mount that's a couple inches longer bolted onto the stock rubber mount.
I just bought a new rubber mount and filed the holes in it with Polyurethance caulk to stiffen it up a bit, plus my old one was pretty loose.
