    Thumbs up HPTuners for Dodge

Not sure if anyone on here has HPTuners but they now have the ability to scan our trucks. I was able to get a very good readout of my fuel trims, o2 sensor voltage, timing, etc and sent that all over to hemifever and he was able to get my tune spot on without needing a wideband. They are currently working on the capability to actually edit the software in our pcms so that we could just go on a laptop, make changes and update it. Only problem is that its been taking a long time. If we can get a bunch of you guys to go on the HPTuners forum and express your interest in getting this done, hopefully it will make it happen sooner. Below is the link to their forum where the techs post regularly. If we could get this to happen soon we could have tuning that blows away everything else currently out there. Below is the link to the Dodge HPTuners just create a username and post up your interest on there.

That sounds like they were just reading the ODBII data stream. I'd be surprised if they could actually toon it.

thats basically what it is except it comes out in a really good graph form that can be saved onto the computer, emailed, and then used to update the pcm with the sct tuner. So basically I was able to get my truck tuned without needing to go back and forth to the dyno and without a wideband and it was spot on. What I am trying to get them to do that they have been working on for years is to get us the ability to actually tune with the software so that if we want to make changes to our tune we can do it whenever we want and so that we will have more parameters to change than wat SCT currently offers.

Ernie at Westech used HPTuners to datalog my truck while it was on the dyno, but he still had to write the tunes in SCT and load them through the handheld.

It did work pretty nice though, the HPtuners program was on his laptop and gathered data pretty good, then he just clicked over to the SCT software, tweaked the tune and loaded it in the handheld.

yea thats basically what i did. the hptuners scanner is a big plus but im trying to get people together to express interest so that we can tune our own vehicles and have more parameters to adjust than what sct currently offers which is not much at all.

sct handheld does not scan. the hptuners device is a scanner/programmer all in one. it scans our trucks.

http://www.hptuners.com/order.php thats the link. you can either can the entire interface which i have for $499 because i use it to tune my trans am but if you dont want that you can get just the scanner for $349. id get the whole thing though because whenever they do come out with tuning it will be right there. you can also get the pro one if you want to connect external devices like wideband.

no dodge listed because dodge credits for tuning cannot be bought. it can only be used as a scanner right now so you dont need credits to scan a vehicle.

It's just an OBD II data logger program and cable for your laptop. It can data log on any OBD II vehicle.

They are currently working on tuning software for dodge, so that you can data log and tune at the same time with one program, but it's not available yet.

It is a very nice datalogging system, but it's a bit pricey. For the pro scanner and wideband it's $750. Whenever they release the tuning software, you'll be able to upgrade and tune your own truck.

Its at least a nice datalogging option. Seems like it would be easier to log with this than the innovative stuff.
