    I've streetraced...

But only from a dig, and I'm sorry if I'm 2 cars ahead/behind at 60mph. Then I'm stopping.

I hate these idiots that are streetracing doing like 60-160's...I know some supra guys that do 90-190s and shit. Fucking crazy.

There were ALOT less cops & the fines alot less severe back when I had my AAR Cuda. I picked her up for $1300 w/a 318 in it. I built a fresh 340 for it. Then took her out to the wheatfield roads for some fun. Now, it had something stupid like 2.93 gears in it. So, the speedo read about 2/3's of what I was really going. AS hard as I tried, I couldn't get her over about 95mph! LOL For you that don't want to calculate that's roughly 145.

There are plenty of vehicles out there that can go faster than what they are actually governed for by the manufacturer. Don't even think about pulling the VSS sensor or vehicle speed sensor, the computer is set for default and you will get even less top speed. There are ways to trick the computer how ever. There are gagets you can plug into the VSS sensor on the trans or buy the Hepertech programmer and open up the speed that way and you can also open up the RPM governor those all without going with a Mopar PCM. The Hypertech is year specific and you can get only one program out of it. Those are still being sold on Ebay from time to time but you have to make sure the person put the program back into it or it is useless. Now vehicles are made with black boxes and records everything. So if you wreck they know how fast you were going and how much braking was applied, etc.

My old roommate has an '01 4.7 AWD dak, and the trick he told me about (and verified) is right before you hit the limiter, you turn the key like you're gonna crank the motor over. The computer senses that you're moving, so it locks the starter out, but your gauges go dead and it bypasses the limiter...so you can go past it, you just don't know how fast you're going or what rpm you're turning...lol.

It’s due to a speed limiter in the transmission if it hits a certain speed it cut off power so the trans doesn’t blow from being pushed to hard

The speed limiter is in the PCM. It has nothing to do with the trans grenading.

This thread was a relic to resurrect.

yup. Wide open highway without another car insight. I decided to open her up. Leo was facing the opposite direction got me on his forward radar then radioed ahead for someone to pull me over. Ended up with a 74 in a 55 though
