    Default srt8 seats

ive had a few people ask me for more pics so i took some pics and a video to give you an idea of what they look like. seats were out of an 08 srt8 300.
    http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/SSPX0239.jpg
all i did in the front was weld some l bracket to the bottom of the seat rail
    http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/SSPX0267.jpg
i then had to buy a passenger side seat switch and hard wire the seat motors
    http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/SSPX0274.jpg
and cut out the trim piece so the switch could fit being thats its reversed on the driver side. measure twice and cut once. i must have forgot that haha
    http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/SSPX0275.jpg
this has to be done because the driver seat send signal to a canbus module which then sends signal to the motors through another module thats under the seat
in the backl i just drilled holes in the floor and used 1/4'' plating for support for the bolts on the outside. inside bolts went through the same bracket as the center console. i figured that was enough support
    inside bolt

    ouside bolt
    http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/SSPX0270.jpg
    plates i cut and painted

    end result

Looks really good. How heavy are the seats compared to the stockers?

I know I just didn't want all the pics taking up a bunch of room. Thought it would be easier this way.

They are heavier but its really not by a whole lot. Especially considering what I upgraded to. Like jontoad said its a combo of a racing seat and a lazy boy.

Shit if you got them for free just use those. I'm sure they are much improved over the stock seats

Haha no I'm not. I'm getting ready to send it to Andrew at hydrographics. Just can't decide on a pattern probably gonna do red snake skin like darrens old truck, but not sure yet.I have another bezel I'm gonna fiberglass two gauges into the vents. I might do a couple bezels and see if anyone wants to buy them

interesting. i cut out my center vents and bought some ABS, but have yet to cut holes & affix the ABS to the dash behind the center vent. not sure how. never thought about glassing it... i thought i could get away with a precision glue job, or a plastic weld with a solder iron.

mm, it's a possibility. so long as i don't have to go thru chicago i'll think about it. i avoid chicago like a mother in law.

dates? i don't think i saw anything in events, but i didn't look real hard.

yea im not sure if im gonna gut the vents and faiberglass them together but still allow then to snap into place as they do now or form it into the bezel as one piece. i was thinking if i allowed it to snap in like the vents do now it would make for easy removal but i was affraid it might fall down and not stay up right from the weight of the gauges

I've been thinking of doing the same thing, thanks for posting. Any details on how you wired it up or was it fairly straight forward?
