    Default Master weight list

Am I missing it or do we not have a weight list at the site? Maybe one of you moderators could find out about moving the one from Delphi. (shrug)

Yep, roughly in the 31-32 area. I didn't have a real accurate scale when I weighed them. I certainly felt the difference when I swapped to some 23lb 17's

Gas tank crossmember (as seen at the top of Dave's sig pic), 8lbs. It comes out pretty easy too, just four bolts.

    Hotchkis leaf spring - 45lbs
    Stock leaf spring - 35lbs

So there's 20lbs for anyone looking to shed some weight. I didn't weigh the Hotchkis coils, but if we can get someone to weigh one, I'll weigh the stock coil (before and after cutting lol). But the Hotchkis coils were a good bit heavier.

    Bump, start weighing stuff folks!

    http://www.dakotart.com/forum/attach...0&d=1296327437

Indicates that the stock hood is 60lbs and a fiberglass one is 30.

The stock transmission crossmember weighs 13# and the stock mount and adapter plate weighs 5#. This tubular crossmember weighs 7.5#, and the heavy duty 727 mount weighs 2#. So that’s 9.5# compared to the stock weight of 18#.
From Richard at Hipotek. This is a nice piece, I test fitted mine yesterday.

Ok just weighed some transmission stuff.

    46re, empty, no converter- 173
727, empty, no converter, front steel planet, billet steel drum- 132
46re stock size lockup converter, empty- 36.5
    727, 9" non lockup converter, 1/4qt of fluid- 32

So a 727 swap should save 45lbs, 53.5 with Richard's cross member. Not counting differences in fluid capacity. Almost all of that difference is rotating weight. The tail housing and OD housing don't really weigh all that much different. The difference is the OD components, all of which spin.
