He's on another forum i'm on. I asked about it and this is what he said...
470 stroker big block, firewall moved back 6", 8-3/4" rear with 32 x 14 slicks, front tires moved in board 2" to allow the drop, 12 point roll cage, all glass in tack. runs 6.40s in the full 1/8th with mid 1.30 sixty foot.
I figured he was running 6.16 according to his passenger window. None the less that's a bad ass truck, but not a big fan of gutting but I realize you need to to run those times. I seen last year at my local track a 1995 Dakota with a 440bb running 6.50 flat and he was destroying his rivals.
Wonder where he got that fiberglass bumper from: I'm interested in that. I need one.

The front clip is not stock dimensions, you would be better off starting from scratch...But the weight in the front of these things isn't in the sheetmetal, it's everything that holds the sheetmetal, like a truck frame. Concentrate on that to loose any real weight.
Mike Carlman went through two sets of doors, he said they are super flimsy too.

wait... fiberglass doors? have fun with that on a street driven truck, where it gets opened and closed alot
you have the nicest gutted dakota i have seen repz
that thing is sweet but the 8 3/4 would have to go. I have broke too many in my life even with light weight cars.
I dont have a 8 3/4 in the rear, I have a 9 1/4 rear end with 3.91 gears.

I was referring to the red drag truck. said 8 3/4 rear

I've been building race cars and such for years. I don't know if I have mad skills but I do have experience with the stuff!!! Some of the race glass parts are super light weight and flimsy. Do you know another source? You seem to do super nice work yourself, super clean truck!
