    Default Why so serious?

lol, I just felt like making that my title, :P

Everyone knows I bought my money pit back in June of this year and she's about where I want her exterior wise now. First two photos are when I first got the R/T. Then before I sold my 99' R/T I swapped the wheels out. Now my 01' is sitting on powder coated flat black R/T wheels with factory tire size 255 55/17. It feels up the fender gap nicely. She rides a lot smoother.

I also took out all the street scene grills and R/T 3rd brake light cover. I had them powder coated gloss black. They came out amazing. Now, I want to work on the interior and get rid of the huge sofa seats.

What do you mean you messed up on your purchase hun? Is your truck getting prepped for paint?

I like the black out look. What are you planning for the interior as you mentioned earlier?
Did it get in a accident? What are your intentions with it?

I do not what so ever like the 2001 interior. They're huge sofa seats. I do like the interior I had in my 99'. I want a nice set of Viper seats, or Durango R/T seats. Maybe even a set of the SRT-10 Ram seats. I wonder if anyone put those in a Dakota yet. I love all 3 mentioned above. I'll take one day at a time and see what deal comes my way.

Other than that, I would like to have R/T embroidered in my door panel inserts and visors. Some nice R/T floor mats. Lastly, I'm not to fawned of the steering wheel. I wonder what else is an option......

lol. You know I did think about it. I also thought about putting the factory R/T decals on, but I really like the black out look. I thought about blacking out the tails too, but the factory tails look good. Too many options, but I'm really happy the way she turned out. I think I'm done with the exterior.

I need to work on the performance side more and start with the interior now.

The chrome was starting to chip and it would have cost a fortune to have them redone. Real chrome is a bitch to do and its hard to find a company that is willing to do it correctly. I love chrome don't get me wrong, but there is a reason I haven't finished restoring my 83' GMC yet.

I would like to go to racing buckets or durango r/t or srt4 seats. Have to cut down one money tree at a time though.
Silver and black sounds nice. Would you be painting the door jams and engine bay too?

I hear yah, I'm paycheck to paycheck until I get one of my vehicles paid off....Damn Christmas shopping, lol.

You took out your center console? My arm would feel naked without an arm rest.

yrs ago i pulled it so it would be easier to get to the passenger seat, then made a custom console which got ruined when bein reworked, now im 3/4 done with makin a fiberglass console, i dont mind it not bein there as i keep both hands on the wheel without it lol

As for the R/T decals, they have them in black. That would look kinda kool IMO.

i kinda like those seats... any info on them? i've had my eye out for a bit but am completely undecided. i'd like them to flip forward if possible. no one really advertises that. i suppose i could put a QD on the back and a hinge on the front, but ehhhhhh.... i always make things harder than they have to be.

The Dark Knight is a hot name then I came up with, "Mean B1tch." :P

Grapejuice, how would you see the decals if they're black hun since the truck is black? It's definitely an idea....

I want to paint the door handles too. They stick out like a soar thumb. I waxed them, but they're so faded that its no use. Paint it is!

Since the truck is gloss black, flat black decals would show up but they would be subtle. "Ghost Decals" if you will.
Even if they were glossy black decals, they would show up because they would sit above the paint, but they wouldn't just jump right out at you as if they were, say, red decals.
