I wish I knew where to find the video of the silver RC Dakota that was drifting around a smallish road course/auto x. He was really hanging it out there, but he had total control. Superb driving skills.

I like autoX better than drag racing and used my truck for that a lot more in the past. Only problem was that I was way outclassed and experience behind the wheel of a weird setup like a dakota r/t doesnt translate well to sports cars. So I'm building it for drag racing and buying another car for autoX.

Any pics of the E-brake setup?

Was it hard to do? I assume you ditched the center console and put it there.

Well I guess I'll be the dick here........... it sounds like you have a bunch more to learn before you get into drifting........

You said you held your R/T sideways at 90 in the rain..... and drifting comes naturally to you......you wernt drifting you were hydroplaning.....because of the wide ass tires these trucks have. And that is pretty damn stupid...have you ever been to a drift event. Go to an event and talk to the guys in the pits...the guy on here with the drifting charger told you that it would not compete

Your mods that you suggested are nowhere close to what these trucks would need to compete in a drift event. and would cost over $10,000Sounds to me you are cruzing the net a little to much coming up with this stuff

    Like this thread http://www.dakotart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8846

Sorry to bust you balls but c'mon just be realistic...If you didnt know that a cummins wouldnt be a good drift motor then you got alot to learn is all I am saying. The damn cummins only turn 3000 rpms and weigh over 1000 pounds with trans you think your truck snaps back now yea put that in there. and you said your a diesel tech and you said the 24v is more reliable than the 12v....LOL you really need some more real world experience

You seen that vid of that black rt drifting pretty good and your truck is already lowered so your half way there it wont be a full competition drifter but if you find a facility close to you then you can show every one your "natural drift ability" and just have some fun with it not on the street

The main thing you need to be thinking about is budget how much money and time can you really afford a full competition drifter why not just make your goals more realistic.

What mods do you already have done???
