    Default Hood latch cable mod..

I have some cable and crimps now, this is aircraft grade cable. I can make a template for the holes that need to be drilled for the cable to run through. Not sure if anyone is interested in buying the setup but if so make an offer. You will get a piece of cable and the correct crimps and a template for drilling out the grill brace. You will also need to fish the cable through the grill brace which isn't hard to do. Let me know if you think 5 bucks is a decent price. It saves you from using those retarded t handle cables and saves you from putting a hole through your mesh grill.

I'd probably be down....I'm tired of having to fix my SS cable every couple of years...now the friggin' plastic clamps are broken, so I can't even use the damn thing....*grumble*

I'm going to go out tomorrow and make a template and also get the wire lenght cut for each cable so they will all be the same. You will need a 1/8th inch drill bit. And a set of crimpers for the other end. other then that its an easy mod.

Had enough material to make up 12 of these. So 12 are ready to go. They vary in length but thats just scrap and you can adjust to whatever size you want due to the extra cable.

I used to have access to rolls of this wire and swedges, good idea. I missed the shipping part, is it $5 shipped? Regular envelope ought to do, I'll be down. I need long enough to get past the valance since I'll be putting gutter guard there as well.

Once you pop the hood inside the truck you get a 1 inch gap below the grill. You can stick your finger in the ring and pop the lever. No need for longer then 1.5 feet. The loop hangs down in that one inch gap. But I can do custom lenghts. I just need to know what lenght you need. 5 bucks should be good I thinka regular envelope would be good. No more then a buck shipping I would think.

send 6 bucks total to bpc@ballisticpc.com I will get them out as needed. I have 12 ready to go. I'm not sure on shipping but like I said it should go regular mail. But a buck should cover any cost. If not I will eat the difference.

Here is the difference. Finished product is cleaner looking and no cable to see through the grill inserts.
    Mine.

And the ones from Street Scene.

That looks nice and everything but j/w can't you just tie strap the secondary latch thing open so when you pop your hood you can just lift your hood up

That would be fine and all, but if you dont mind your hood flying up while driving then neither do I. 5 bucks and you still have the latch that prevents the hood from flying up. Its a matter of choice to me. I have had a hood fly up on my old Honda Accord and its not fun driving 60 blind. Here ya go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5vtz...eature=related
