And as a side note. The point I was trying to make was that the only way to really set your pinion correctly is under load. All you can really do is take the measurements and guess how much it moves...
I disagreeif you look at a video of the pinion loaded during a launch you can watch the pinion climb slightly when the vehicle is stalled and then climb a little bit more when launched.
Most 4 post you drive on so the suspension is loaded. Power breaking on a lift being a bad idea to begin with would only keep you from stalling as high but you should still be able to load the pinion...
