If you've tried the above stuff and it hasn't resolved, it could be the crank sensor going south.

I wouldn't recommend using old valves on new heads - the old valves have seen a good amount of abuse, even under gentle engine conditions. I also was unaware that the stock valves were the same size...
TPS shouldn't have two grounds - if you do, one wire is shorting out. You should have a 5V supply wire (Pin 1), the signal wire (Pin 2), and a single ground Pin 3).
If your converter is unlocking...
You never specified which M1 -- 2bbl or 4bbl. A 2bbl M1 loses little low end compared to a kegger, but a 4bbl is like taking the wind out of your sails. Couple that with your ported heads, and...
Thanks, I appreciate that. I finally got a hold of Bob yesterday - he's out of town until the 16th, but I think he was going to try finding the info when he gets back as well. He seems to think off...
I'm running 13" rotors, which is what the Gen1 Vipers ran. Gen1 Vipers also ran 17" rims, so it makes sense that it'd fit. I doubt the 14" rotors would work with a 17" rim.
I'm curious how...
Soooo, just an FYI -- those rear calipers are the same as my Viper rears (or at least they look like it). They were a common caliper across multiple vehicles, GMs included. Those fronts are larger...
46re is roughly a 25% loss; so working backwards, you're actually closer to 430 at the crank.
:rockwoot:
Totally up to you, but I personally like rowing gears - it's the one thing I've always hated about the R/T package. I'm dropping in a new motor and doing a T-56 swap in mine. As far as a Hemi swap,...
Somebody still makes them, the guy that built my motor used one - I think it's aftermarket though, not OEM replacement. He also internally-balanced the motor when he built it.
Transmission control was part of the PCM in all Dakotas and Rams.
Ah, I see. Yeah, I was hoping Tom would chime in by now. I never saw any reference to what shifter to use in his tutorial...would be a nice bit of info to have in there.
Thanks, I may pick...
One more question - what shifter should I use on this setup? Tom, did you use a stock Dakota NV3500 shifter? Or was it something else, like the SRT-10 shifter? What are you using Jon?
If you'd like, I can setup a folder for you on my web server. I don't *plan* on ever getting rid of it, so any photos there should be relatively permanent...lol.
Yeah, I asked on the Facebook group too...lol. I e-mailed him today and he responded, apologizing. Thanks for getting back!
I know Ryan Vowell out in Hawaii split his block in half. I think it was a stock bottom end, but don't quote me. He was pushing the limits of the Paxton and FAST setup on a mild motor, I remember...
Jump on the HP Tuners Forums - tons of dodge guys in there with our family of transmissions (4xRE)
Dude ignored all my calls/e-mails several years ago, looking to buy something from him...put me off from wanting to do business with him from that point forward. :idunno:
Yes sir.
Hey Tom,
I was wondering if you knew if Gerko was still in business or not? I know you recommended them in your T-56 thread. I tried reaching out to Geoff several times last year and never got a...
There's also a REALLY detailed rebuild video series uploaded to YouTube. I stumbled across it somehow, can't remember how.

I mean, I already have a set (best mod ever, honestly), but might be tempted to have a spare set on-hand...in case I ever add to the fleet, or to swap out on a frame refresh.
I have the SKF FW115 bearings in my hubs and have had them installed for about 11 or 12 years. So far, I probably have at least 60k miles on them without an issue. I did call SKF about the end of...
You can still get the Riken Raptors in 255/50/17 super-cheap. They're now labeled as an All-Season Max or Ultra Performance though instead of a Summer Performance like they used to be. As far as I...
