How close? Actual slick or drag radial?
What wheel are you running stock 15x8 sport wheels? I'm probably going to be running the same combo. Not sure if I should go 26 or 28 tall though.
I was wanting to run ET Street S/S but the size choices are scarce. I assume 11.5 is going to be too wide for a stock truck and they don't make the 26 or 28 in 10.5. Guess that would mean my only choice is 27x10.5 for MT?

P/N 3453 is 275/60R15 aka "28x11.5". Section width is 11.1", height is 28.1". I'm actually more worried that that's too tall for not having gears. Will be ~400hp NA, 3200 stall, 3.92 gears, Detroit locker. Stock CC springs, lowering hangers, caltracs, hotchkis rear sway bar, I'll disconnect the front sway bar.
275/50 is 25.9" tall.

I would go with a 28” tall tire personally. I’ve tried 26” before and didn’t really notice a difference with my setup at the time.
I ran 275/60’s on a stock offset wheel with no issues. The ET streets work really well in my opinion if you want a good radial tire.
I run 28x13.5-15s and a 10” wheel w/4.56 gears

ET STREET PRO's work amazingly well on street
Hell yea they do !
What do you have them on bud?
Are you asking me Chris ?
I concur that drag radials are WAY more effective at hooking up on the street than normal tires are.
I have the e.t street 315 pro's. And they are amazing. I can pretty much hammer down from a dead stop and it damn near hooks. I haven't tried using the trans break on the street but I am very impressed.
Maybe It just means I need more whp :fml:
I concur with Dave ! :roflmao:
Yeah, drag radials don't hook for shit on the street with high horsepower, the under 400whp trucks around here will prolly work fine with them.
28x10.5x15 is a big ass tire for a 8" rim, too big IMO.
They balloon or round out top and bottom , 10in wheel gives you more flat foot print
I'm making the same mistake running 12" slicks on 10" rims, to get full contact the tire pressure is so low I'm wadding up the tires. PLUS...They grow like a bitch too.
The maxim wheel width on a 28x13.5 te street is 9” , what tires are you running Dave ?
Maximum width?
I have 10" Rim, 12" slicks.
Don't go by the tire charts, talk to to the 8.5 and 10.5 guys at the track. MT recommends a 10" rim for a 28x13.5, minimum is 9".
The best I've ever run, 60' and ET was on 10" Biased Ply slicks.
Gonna get me some and try em out.
