Wow. Just wow.
Hang in there OP. Everyone has to start somewhere.
:jester:
FYI... crank at 12, cam at 6 with the dots... is TDC, firing on #6
Both dots at 12 is TDC, firing #1.
This is why so many distributors get installed 180 degrees off and engines don't start
So now I have another issue in this rebuild I have some gaskets which I have no clue where they would go
Post a pic or two of the gaskets in question.
It's a bit of a stretch to call this a rebuild.
One gasket goes there, and the other one goes there.

That's the best I can do phone won't upload pictures on this site.
Is the paper gaskets in the bottom left and the two medium sized rubber ones in the bottom right
5.2 PCM and wiring in the injectors is the easier solution, the missing upstream O2 will make for one angry computer.
You're gonna have some pretty big problems if you're not running any O2s and aren't going carbed...
You're making my brain hurt. :dazed:
You misunderstand, there are FOUR (4) O2 sensors with a '98 5.9 truck and 2 with the other '98 trucks. Only one of them on each truck is what you're thinking about and is the after-cat O2 that doesn't really do much. The others are before the cat and is what determines all your fuel trims. Without the pre-cat O2(s) the PCM is going to see no sensors and light up like a Christmas tree and run like dogshit because it will just assume it's crazy lean and throw extra fuel at it.
