It has been quite some time since the last time we, in the Midwest Area, ever had a Dakota R/T Get-To-Gether. So, here is my proposition for having a GtG, and this corresponds with a good cause as well.
The bank that I currently work with, has partnered with the ARC of Sedgwick County (http://www.arc-sedgwickcounty.org/index.html) (www.arccarshow.com) to host a car show in the historic museum of Old Cowtown in Wichita, KS. This is a fundraiser car show for the mentally disabled children of Sedgwick County. If you plan on attending and register before May1st it will save you $10 than when you come on the day of the show. So, if you want to join in on this car show let me know so I can reserve a section for our group. I have been working with the Board of Directors for this car show and I have requested a section for an "R/T Group Gathering" and a special section for the bank that I work with.
Old Cowtown is a historic representation of an old western town, and the buildings that are in this are the originals from the Wichita Area, late 1800's to very early 1900's. Yes, there are dirt roads since there were no pavement or brick roads around that time. Which a question will arise about "dust" issues. I did bring that up at the meeting, which this issue will be taken care of the night before, basically getting the roads sprayed down with water.
I hope people will be wanting to join in on this good cause. If there are questions or concerns about this car show, if you plan on attending, please let me know and I will answer as quickly as I can.
I will be attending another Board meeting about this car show, tomorrow night (April 26th) to bring up any issues or concerns you may have.
