Well as some of you might know, the 2000 Bright White RC R/T i had burnt down due to an injector o-ring failure, i lost everything and the only thing i was able to salvage from it was a few parts. All my work over 3 years to the truck went up in flames in less then 5 min right in front of me... here are some BEFORE and AFTER photos when i first got the 2000. After these photos ill post up what i have done to the 2001 Bright Silver Metallic RC R/T i picked up.

Ok... So here are the photos of the New 2001 when i got her, notice the dumbo folding mirrors, and nasty ass engine bay, its completely stock besides the CAI, Spintech Cat Back Setup, SS Grill inserts, and Tint. Everything else is un touched (i might have left out some shit)
The trucks suspension was SHOT to hell... I bought all new balljoints, end links, tie rod ends, just so i could drive the thing. The kid drove it to TN and Back to TX and the balljoints look like they where about to go after one more bump. It was BAD, and the tranny is pure slush at WOT.. i cant even race it, i was going to do a before and after i do all the mods, but i cant even shift out of 1st, i have to let the RPMS drop from 5200 to 3900 then shift to 2nd then to 3rd... not even worth it.
Notice the Nasty ass engine bay.. i fixed that asap.

Some more photos after i deleted some shit from the bay, and cleaned it up, and installed the lower SS inserts to match the top, i just so happened to have a lower set laying in the garage. Lucky me! I also installed the clear tails i had on my 2000 on this one, they seem to look better on the silver one IMHO.

Then i installed the MSD 6A shit i had laying around in the garage and cleaned up the bay a little more, deleted heat shields, did a nice tune up on it, some 8mm taylors, and installed a Moroso billet overflow tank, and tossed that Ugly ass FIPK intake system in the trash, replaced the Pulleys and installed a High Flow Water Pump and a 180thermo, also put on the SCT Tune from Sean. 2001 is pretty cool he can control the stock fan to work with the 180 thermo better.

Here is when i installed the new Headlights, 6000k HID headlights, and foglights, and replaced the blown ass speakers that where in the cab, the front ones only worked, so i got a set of type S component Alpines for the front and a set of type S coaxial for the rear and a 4channel Alpine amp to power all them. Big improvement, i need my music. I also traded off the Dumbo Folding Side Mirrors for a set of the Sport ones.. looks much better, ill have them painted to match soon.

I had a guy that works at a paint shop do them for me "out the back door" i did my door handles and side mirrors, he sanded down the rough shit on the mirror (since they are textured from factory) and filled in the gap right before the lens and painted them. They where smooth, and looked good, normal paint i guess.

Yes
Some new photos, waiting to get the cosmetic stuff painted...

Kinda OT but just out of curiosity, I see that DJM stuff comes with new rear bump stops. In the instructions, do they tell you to drill a new hole in the frame for them or can you use the existing hole for them? I ask because I still have the stock rear bumpstops (cut) and want to get new universal pancake style stops for the back. I'm wondering if I need to drill a new hole for them because the existing hole for the stock bump stops appears to be slightly off center of the axle. Thanks

Yes you have to drill to mount the new bumpstops. I read the instructions last night. A lot of work to install that rear hanger kit... INSTALL PARTY!

1. Got them off ebay.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280444143496&viewitem=
2. Don't know its the standard Spintech side exit kit.
3. About 75$ from summit.
Some updates, parts have not came back from painter yet. Should have them soon, although in the meantime ill be installing C-Notches in the frame for the 4" Shackle and Hanger setup for the rear.
I have taken the bed off, and took off some un-needed parts and shields, maybe another 5-10lbs of weight shredded off. Not to bad.
For now thats all im going to do, when i install the hangers and shackles ill be taking the bed off again, and cutting off a lot of excess things, like the old exhaust hangers, spare tire holder, and some other things should be good for another 20-30lbs.
Also going to sand down and coat the frame and anything else, with rust resistant stuff.
O yeah i forgot, my radiator took a shit on me 2 days ago, had to drop 400$ to get it fixed, 200 for radiator, 100$ for new upper lower hoses, and 60$ in coolant... so that set me back a little, that was my funds to have my parts powder coated.
Here are some photos of the progress so far.

I have pancakes mounted in the rear holes and they seem to work just fine. That's with 2" hangers and hotchkis leafs.

Is it wrong of me getting a semi when I see those welds on the c notch?
Nope, i did to when i saw him welding, almost poked him in the back. He has been welding and building tube chassis, 4-links, air bag setups, ect for well over 20+ years, i think he said he started when he was 10 and didn't start doing it professional till about 17 or 18 or somthing. He was in some magazine before i was into trucks he was telling me about it, all i remember is somthing about a "Spawn Truck" he built.
I talked to him and he is going to be doing the rest of my work on my truck that requires welding and suspension work. Im friends with a guy good friends with him. Its good to have friends saves a lot of money.
Got the truck dynod today so i could see what its like stock and whats it like when i get everything installed and tuned.
Here is the video and photo of the dyno sheet, for the lazy people.
Type of Dyno: Dynojet
Humidity: 21%
Tempature: 97F
Max RWHP: 220hp
Max RWTQ: 307lbs
Not bad for stock and with 125,000 miles on it.

All I can say is keep this thread going. That truck is turning out sharp.
More photos, some more parts arrived, and i cleaned up my drop control arms, and my old exhaust that was burnt up, looks decent now.
still waiting on my Viper Electric fan, and my timing chain, lifters, and valve springs to arrive. Along with my headers, i sent them out to get Ceramic coated last week. Should have them sometime end of next week.
Assembled my valve covers, put the APS baffles in, along with the grommets and breather, and got my lowering kit together to install soon hopefully next weekend if i have time.
Also chunked the out of date deck, and upgraded to a 2010 Deck works much better.
Here are some photos...

Well i overlooked an issue, i pulled the cam out and one of the cam bearing looks like a rock got stuck in it and ripped it to shreds.. so i just got home from a 2 hour trip finding a set of bearings, they are in the freezer right now. Photos follow with photos of the meesed up bearing and all the parts waiting to go on. If this didnt happen i could of had this baby started up tonight, but now i have to wait till tomorrow.

Its done, I finished the motor, but i wrecked it a few days before new years and now im in the process of fixing it, its not to bad, just need a hood, fender, bumper, flare, and a battery tray. This is why i out together the group buy for the SRT hood, because i was going to buy one anyways.

Did you powder coat everything or paint it?

Lots of work. Coming together very nicely. Wrecked it? Man you have some shitty luck with Dakotas. Very nice man. Loved the white ones hood and bed cover. Real shame.
Im fixing it back up, its going to have a checkmate bed cover, cevini spoiler, srt hood, and painted to match mirrors when its done.
Also i used high temp paint not powder. So far its help up pretty damn good.

Good looking truck. where did you get the Chrome breather baffle for the valve cover? Looks nice. seeing the cervinis spoiler on your truck made me think about getting one. I like the Xenon one also. Does it clear the checkmate with no problems?
Got the breather off Summit I think. It's push in.

this thing is looking real good, too bad you scuffed it up a bit!
so that is the cervini's spoiler on there?
Yes thats the cervini's spoiler.
Used factory fog lights.
Update...
The shop that had my truck gave up on it. I'm in the process of putting together a claim for small claims court, I am going to ask the owner of the last shop if he will cover the cost to fix everything they fucked up, and just have another shop do it.
I think it's funny that everything was going smooth, and getting shit done, and as soon as I brought other people into my build it came to a crawl. Goes to show you if you want something done on time and correct do it yourself.
This shit should have been done a year ago!
Here are some photos of how it sits now, a nice new dent on the tailgate, and a truck missing bolts here and there, and no paint... I dropped this truck off in July of 2011 and all that got done was some prep work on my bumper, grill, a half ass drop kit, and some new body damage! yay!

How are these idiots still in business if they can't paint a truck within a year? Imagine all their other customers probably in the same boat as you.
That car in the frist photo... that was another project that started at about the same time as mine. They have not even touched it yet.
Also my truck was in a shop before, they trailered it out to this place so they could "work on it more" this was was in BFE! When i first arrived I was like umm... this is where your working on my truck? Shit laying everywhere, no wonder they lost all the damn bolts to everything, my bed was just layout outside in the mud.
I'm just glad I have ity back now, either they will pay to have it fixed, or they will pay me in small claims court. I'm writting out a document as I check the forums. Trying to remember everything I can before I get home from work. Then I'll pull up all my texts, messages, emails, paypal transfers, calls, ect to put together and exact timeline.

There was a shop here in town that went under, a few guys lost their cars...More lost parts. Nothing they could do...Legal system works in strange, as in Fucked up ways.
Atleast I have my shit... If the truck was gone, or stolen. Someone would be dead...
Now I'm going to have to spend mroe time with court shit, if he does not want to pay another shop to fix his fuck up, and I'm pretty sure he's not going to be "down" to do that.
Here are some photos of how she was sitting when I went to go look at it, and then where it sits now in my garage.
Brian the owner "SAYS" he is going to pay to have it fixed. Jack the guy actually working on it, is just a pile of shit. Brian is a good guy, but after Jack showing his true colors in a nice little text I got from him it shows he is talking defense. Which means he knows he fucked up big time.
I should know something within a week on where my truck is going to, and this time he won't be doing the work. I will have contact with another shop. I'm just waiting on Brian to set it up. I talked to him on the phone tonight for 2 hours getting this taken care of. Now is his time to show me some progress, he has till the end of next week, until I submit a claim agaist Jack and him.
Enjoy the trash photos...

they were only supposed to be painting it and they've had it a year? looks like all they did was sand enough of the paint that you cant get away without painting it now
They where suppose to fix the cab, fender, and paint the whole truck.

wow! that is just shitty man, sorry you gotta deal with that bs. like you said though, at least it wasn't stolen or anything. my buddy is in the marines and had his 2000 mustang in a shop around jacksonville, NC. long story short, this shop that was supposed to be damn good, the owner got into some shady deals and started chopping cars. my buddy was in afghanistan and when he got back he found out from his friend (who had a car there as well) that the shop went under and the owner got arrested and all that. he lost the car, had a stroker motor he was going to put in, heads, exhaust, etc, all gone. insurance covered most of it, but it was still a shitty thing to deal with.
Is this the same shop that did your c-notches too?
No, the guys that did my notches where some friends of mine.

oh ok, good deal then. hopefully everything works out for you in time!
I should have news by the end of next week if my truck is going to another shop or not, and Brian is suppose to be paying for it. We will see, this is the last chance, until I put it in the hands of a judge/jury.
